Have you ever opened your child’s lunchbox after school… and found it still full?

You packed it with care. You thought about what they like.
And yet—it comes back untouched.

If this has happened to you, you’re definitely not alone.
Many parents I speak with share the same concern—and often feel unsure about what to do next.

But here’s something important to consider:
Sometimes, it’s not just about the food.

At school, children are balancing so many things at once—
wanting to play, connect with friends, manage time, and fit in.
Even small experiences, like comments from peers or feeling rushed, can affect whether they eat or not.

In my latest video, I’ve gently explored:

* Why children may not be finishing their lunch at school
* What they might actually be experiencing during lunchtime
* How we can support them without pressure or power struggles
* And how small changes at home and school can make a meaningful difference

This is a conversation—not a checklist.
Because every child’s experience is different, and understanding them is always the first step.

If this resonates with you, I’d really encourage you to watch the video and share your thoughts.

💬 What has your experience been like with your child’s lunch at school?
💬 What has helped—or felt challenging—for you?

Let’s keep supporting our children—gently and together.

Episode 9: How to support autistic children in learning early arithmetic in a fun, stress-free way? 16/03/2026

Supporting Autistic Children in Learning Early Math

Many parents of autistic children often ask how they can introduce numbers and early arithmetic concepts in ways that are meaningful and engaging for their children.
Research in early childhood education and autism support suggests that children often learn mathematical concepts more effectively when learning is play-based, visual, and connected to everyday experiences rather than through formal instruction alone.

Some practical strategies include:
• Using real-life objects like toys or household items to teach counting
• Incorporating music and movement to reinforce number learning
• Using play-based activities to develop early mathematical thinking
• Providing visual supports to make number concepts clearer
• Turning everyday routines, such as snack time or setting the table, into simple learning opportunities

I recently shared a short video translating these research-informed ideas into practical activities parents can try at home.
If you are interested in exploring this topic further, you may find it helpful.

I also explore how shifting our mindset—especially when parenting in a new cultural context—can lead to more empowered, curious, and capable children.
