Most trading strategies are built to fail long term, here’s why:

This table shows the consistent win rate you would need to maintain to be a profitable trader based on your RRR (risk/reward ratio)

Because we can control our risk when trading, we can also control our reward, this gives us a massive advantage as we can start to swing the odds in our favour.

Most strategies and most beginners are taught to use a 1:1 strategy, this means that if they are risking $100 on a trade, they are looking to make $100 back as reward.

Basically going even odds with the market (never a good idea)

1:1 means you would need a consistent win rate of 60% to remain profitable as a trader.

Now I’m not saying 60% isn’t achievable, but you are making things about 3x harder than they need to be.

So just imagine we switched our mindset from having a consistently high win rate, and we started focusing on higher Reward/Risk.

So we then utilise the 3:1 reward/risk.

Now let’s say every time you are risking $100, you now make $300 as your return.

This now means you are 300% more profitable.

Here’s where it gets crazy, you only need to win 30% of your trades at 3:1 to be consistently profitable.

So now we have changed our situation from 1:1 and needing a 60% win rate.

To now making 300% more for 30% less consistency on your end.

This is now where you can start working on your win rate and increasing the amount of trades you win at 3:1.

This is the sweet spot.

This is where compounding growth occurs.
