This week is National Reconciliation Week, where all Australians learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements. We explore how we can contribute towards achieving reconciliation in Australia. This includes calling out racism when we see it and reinforcing the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
26/05/2024
Every year on May 26, we remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their homes. Today, we acknowledge the strength of the Stolen Generations Survivors, and reflect on how we can play a part in the healing process.

About May 17
May 17 marks the date in 1990 that homosexuality was removed from the WHO Classification of Diseases. Over two decades later, LGBTQIA+ communities still face discrimination – the stakes have never been higher to champion inclusion.

Today, we remember all those that sacrificed their lives in military and peacekeeping operations. This photo is of the Anzac Memorial, a physical expression of the spirit and legend of the Anzacs, and a place of comfort for those who have lost loved ones.
Lest we forget.

This International Women's Day, hear from Vanshika, the Chair of the Student Voice Committee, where she is responsible for creating a campus that all students of SIBT and WSUSCC are proud of. She is a leader for the students, and wants them to have a fun and memorable time on campus. As the Chair, Vanshika is also responsible for the other members of the Committee, so she endeavours to give them a chance to express themselves and develop their skills.
Vanshika is inspired by her mother, and where she is today is because of her mum.
“My mother is the one who inspires me the most. She taught me how to handle so many things at once, and from her I learned my time management skills and developed leadership qualities. All the credit for what I am doing as a leader goes to her."
