Excursion time! This week the Guwiyang room ventured to our local fire station to extend on our learning of occupations within our community! The children were full of questions to ask the fire fighters and very excited to investigate the inside of a real fire engine! Thank you Botany fire station for your amazing hospitality! 🚒🔥

This month in the Guwiyang room, we have been exploring Occupations within our community! The children have been able to broaden their understanding of a range of job roles from photographers, athletes, veterinarians, dentists, cleaners, musicians, scientists and many more! 🎻

This month in the Guwiyang room, we have began exploring Occupations! Today the children engaged in a photography shoot, creating their own advertisement ideas and learning all about the job role of a photographer as well as experimenting with light, angles, equipment and cameras! 📸

The Guwiyangs enjoying their self-made fruit rocket ships. 🚀After exploring how a rocket ship is constructed in four seperate parts, with each segment important for a different use, the children extended on their learning using a variety of fruit to assemble together. Fresh from the fridge, these make the perfect afternoon tea snack on a hot summers day! 🌞

Excursion Time !
The Gura’s (2-3 years) embarked on a special journey to the fire station. As apart of their interest in career/jobs the children had the chance to visit their local fire station. Exploring all the tools and equipment needed when becoming a fire fighter, the children were all amazed and learnt about the sirens, hose and fire truck.
We are very thankful to Botany fire station for sharing their knowledge and supporting their community.

I think we may have some future fire fighters here 🚒❤️🚨

IP: Auroras! 🌌
As the Guwiyang room is discovering space throughout November, today’s learning was all about Aurora Borealis’ and Aurora Australis’ (Northern and southern lights).
Before beginning our journey, the Guwiyangs put on their astronaut attire and climbed aboard their imaginary rocket ship to set off on our day’s adventure.
Today’s experiences were full of exciting colour creating light display experiments, drawing Auroras with pastels and exploring how and why Aurora’s are created in space!
