Congratulations to all our athletes who competed at the AeroSchools State Championships. You were amazing, and we couldn’t be prouder of you!

This fantastic result is a testament to the girls’ commitment, dedication and hard work, with all our athletes now qualifying to compete at the National AeroSchools Competition. 🌟

A huge congratulations to Tiana (Year 10), Ponyo, Anna Shi-Wei, and Tammy (Year 8) who achieved perfect scores in the 2026 International Chemistry Quiz 🧪

Well done to the 21 students who achieved High Distinction certificates ,as well as the 87 students who achieved Distinction certificates.

PLC Sydney is the only girls' school to have achieved these remarkable results this year. A true testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of each of these young scientists, as well as their teachers.

Congratulations, girls. This is a fantastic result ❤️

As Australia’s only winter based school snowsports program just for girls, PLC Sydney students from Years 7-10 are fortunate to experience a season living, training and studying in the Snowy Mountains.

In addition to building on their skills on snow while training at Perisher, these girls refine their cooking skills, cleaning, washing and developing independent living skills, all whilst training for their chosen sport.

The girls have also been volunteering each Monday in the Jindabyne Op Shop and soup kitchen, while regularly training for aerials on the giant air bag and trampoline at the National Snowsports Training Centre, which assists in building their aerial awareness in snow.

Last week, a group of students from the Senior Library Shadow Judging club attended the official Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Awards at the State Library of NSW 📚

The annual Shadow Judging program invites younger readers to assess CBCA shortlisted books using the same criteria as the official adult panel, with their votes tallied to determine the Shadow Judging winners.

Before the ceremony, our judges explored the historic Shakespeare Room, the Mitchell Reading Room, the Children’s Library, and special exhibitions marking the library’s 200th anniversary.

A highlight of the day was when Grace (Year 10) took to the stage to present her review of the shortlisted book, Of Flame and Fury by Mikayla Bridge. Grace addressed a distinguished audience, including the Hon. Prue Car MP (Deputy Premier of NSW), Senator the Hon. Dr Jess Walsh (Federal Minister for Early Childhood), nominated authors, illustrators, and student judges from across the state. Well done Grace!

Congratulations to our amazing PLC Sydney Athletics team, who competed at the IGSA Athletics Carnival and placed second overall with a whopping 369 points! 💪👏

Our athletes achieved some brilliant results, earning:
🥇 3 gold medals
🥈 11 silver medals
🥉 10 bronze medals

From sprints to hurdles to high jump and long jump, each of our athletes were at the top of their game and did the College very proud.

Thank you to Year 9 and several Transition students, who cheered loudly from the stands and showed great school spirit, and of course to the ever amazing PLC Sydney athletics coaches for your energy, effort and commitment ❤️

Last week students from across both the Junior and Senior school dazzled us with their musical talents at the annual Strings Concert 🎶

Hosted by three students - Vera, Lina and Romaine - the concert was a brilliant evening of music, featuring performances from our youngest musicians in Evandale Strings, all the way through to Year 12. The vast array of styles from each performance were a celebration of the incredible power of string instruments and music.

Congratulations to the talented Speaking Development Team, who spent the past week competing at the Ryde Eisteddfod!

This was many of the girls’ first public speaking competition, and they poured serious effort into crafting, refining and delivering their speeches.

The team achieved a clean sweep at the competition, collecting every award on offer in their category.

Well done to all students for their dedication throughout the Development Training program. Public speaking takes real courage, and you've all risen to the challenge beautifully ❤️
