HAVE YOU BEEN CALLED TO RELEASE YOUR FINANCIAL DATA BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?

https://nsw.childcarealliance.org.au/news-current/called-to-release-your-financial-data

Members will recall ACA NSW since May 2026 encouraging as many services as possible to participate in the Federal Government's Service Delivery Price Project (SDPP).

The Federal Government's objective is:

"... building an evidence-based picture of the true and reasonable costs of delivering safe, quality early childhood education and care (ECEC) across Australia. This will help the government make data-driven decisions about the pathway to universal ECEC."

And should you be called to release your financial information, the Federal Government would be doing so under Section 203AA of the A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999. (NOTE: Large services are already legally required to share such financial information.)

Legally, members can of course challenge it via the Commonwealth’s Administrative Review Tribunal, the Federal Courts, or ultimately the High Court of Australia.

The "alternative" may be to volunteer for the Service Delivery Price Project as originally communicated since May 2026, assuming that is an option that remains available.

Members can contact the ACA NSW team via 1300 556 330 or [email protected] for assistance.

In the meantime, ACA NSW has also begun building its own financial database using trusted and de-identified data from NSW-based services. By 2027, such information will be useful to ACA NSW in verifying/contrasting/challenging governments' data and conclusions to ensure effective dialogue.

UPDATE ON UP TO 1,000% FEE INCREASES IMPOSED BY THE NSW EARLY LEARNING COMMISSION

https://nsw.childcarealliance.org.au/news-current/update-up-to-1-000-fee-increases-imposed-by-nsw-early-learning-commission

NSW-based services should have received their invoices from the NSW Early Learning Commission, with their payments due by 15 November 2026.

ACA NSW began its opposition on this since February 2026.

Even though the NSW Early Learning Commission is refusing to change its mind, ACA NSW has since:

1. asked the NSW Information and Privacy Commissioner to review the validity of the NSW Early Learning Commission's refusal to release the requested information;

2. asked the NSW Auditor-General to advise if the up to 1,000% fee increases are fair;

3. requested the NSW Early Learning Commission to allow services to pay such increased fees by instalments; and

4. produced a template for NSW-based Approved Providers to e-mail to their local NSW Members of Parliament (for their service and their residence) expressing their views about such fee increases.

Links and the template are available via: https://nsw.childcarealliance.org.au/news-current/update-up-to-1-000-fee-increases-imposed-by-nsw-early-learning-commission

RECOGNISING EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS+TEACHERS WITH 20-41 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE!

https://www.eeceawards.com.au/post/the-early-wall-of-tenure

A new tradition was established at this year's annual Excellence in Early Childhood Education Awards (www.eeceawards.com.au) held at The Fullerton Hotel, Sydney.

As our early childhood educators and teachers are the most appreciated for their gifts, all those with 20 or more years and attending the Awards Gala Night were recognised with a unique gold medallion which they are now invited to wear every time they attend future Awards Gala Night.

And those with 31-41 years of experience were recognised on stage presented by the Hon Julia Finn MP (the Parliamentary Secretary for the NSW Premier), Tina+Mark Harris (aka Lah-Lah Big Live Band), Kylie Crane (Deputy Secretary at the Federal Department of Education), Anne Twyman (First Assistant Secretary at the Federal Department of Education) and Michael Petrie (General Manager at ACECQA) and Lyn Connolly (ACA NSW's President).

In future years, all early childhood educators and teachers with 20+ years of experience and not yet with her/his own gold medallion will receive and be recognised upon attending the next Excellence in Early Childhood Education Awards Gala Night.
