What can we find under the sea? 🐠 🐋 🦀

Following up on our Kangaroos interest of the theme Under The Sea 🌊
Just look at the learning space they have created with the help and guidance from their amazing Educators.

Today a group from our Kangaroos class, had the chance to visit Waverley Public School.

Thank you to the staff and to the students who showed us around the the school which included the classrooms library and playgrounds.

Our Kangaroos are still talking about the visit and all the different areas they seen.

World Book Week 2019 📚 .
So far this week we have had some very exciting characters for book week in Gingerbread ⭐️📚.

The children gain a love for reading through shared stories and dressing up as their favourite characters. We promote reading daily at Gingerbread, see some of the benefits listed below;

* Vocabulary
* Communication
* Language
* Healthy brain development and
* To build the child’s imagination.

And what better way to extend the children’s interest than an excursion to our local library 📚 .
A group from our Kangaroos 🦘 class had great fun this morning attending story time at Waverley Library . We look forward to making it a regular visit.

Promoting Dental Health Week 🦷 at Gingerbread Kindergarten .
This week our Kangaroos and Joeys have been learning all about ‘Our Teeth’ and how to keep them healthy.

A huge thank you to ‘Hazan Healthy Smiles’ and the wonderful Daniel who took time out of his day to come and chat with our Joeys and Kangaroos teaching healthy habits for our teeth, reading stories and creating experiments.

The Joey’s and Kangaroo’s also loved the presents you brought us Thank you 😊

Just a few minutes from our beautiful centre is Cuthbert Street playground and for most of the time I’m sure it goes unnoticed as it is in high need of a refurbishment.

What a fun, action packed day we had at Gingerbread and all while raising much needed funds and awareness for children in foster care.

Thank you to our amazing children, staff and families for participating in the event ’National Pyjama Day’.

I think our kangaroo’s and Joey’s most enjoyed the popcorn making and hot chocolate in their pyjamas.
