FDE Major Study Performance Tips -
1. Have a clear interpretation! You need to know how to articulate what you’re dancing about to the examiner in your informal discussion
2. Talk to the examiner about how many sections you have and what each section represents (this is not composition so I doesn’t need to be as complex)
3. Your music must relate to your interpretation! The examiner will ask you about lyrics and how it supports your idea
4. Again stamina is key! This time you will be dancing between 4 to 6 minutes so ensure your fitness levels are up! 🤍

FDE Core Composition Tips -
1. Have a simple yet complex concept intent that you can describe in one sentence. Steer clear from common/ overdone topics and try to think outside the box
2. Don’t have too many motifs unless you can justify why in your rationale and elaboration. Sometimes less is best!
3. Ensure that your form and structure is clear and you are able to justify your ideas to the marker.
4. Have examples of phrases prepared to demonstrate to the marker that reflect your concept intent.
5. Be prepared to elaborate on your choreographic choices. Don’t just fill time and space. Everything must link back to your concept intent and have meaning 🤍

FDE Core Performance Tips - Stamina and warming up is key! Performing a 3-5 minute solo can be exhausting especially coming out of COVID. Ensure you are dance fit leading up to your HSC. Include cardiovascular type exercises into your warm ups and alway rehearse you solo to your fullest 🤍
