🏴☠️ Pirate Pete's Sustainability Adventure! 🦜
Today, the children enjoyed a special visit from Pirate Pete and his friend, Paddy the Parrot! Through songs, stories, games and lots of laughter, the children learned about the importance of sustainability and caring for our environment.
The children discovered the 3 "Arghhhs" Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and explored the difference between soft and hard plastics, learning how everyday choices can help reduce waste and protect our planet.
It was a fun, interactive and educational experience that encouraged the children to become little environmental champions and think about ways they can make a positive difference in the world around them. 🌏♻️💚

🇮🇹 Italian Pizzeria - Mini Master Chef Program 👨🍳
Last Friday, the children explored the flavours and traditions of Italy through a hands-on cooking experience.
As they listened to classic Italian music, the children eagerly prepared their own pizzas, developing important life skills such as following instructions and making independent choices. They carefully selected their toppings, spread the sauce, and assembled their pizzas with great enthusiasm.
This fun and engaging experience encouraged cultural awareness and confidence. Most importantly, the children enjoyed sharing their delicious creations with friends and celebrating the rich food culture of Italy. 🍕🇮🇹✨

🌊 World Ocean Day 🐠
Today we celebrated World Ocean Day and explored the importance of our oceans through a range of engaging learning experiences.
The children participated in ocean-themed sensory play, creative art and craft activities, and discussions about marine life and how we can help protect our oceans.
Through play and exploration, the children learned about the animals that live in our oceans, the impact of pollution, and simple ways we can care for our environment.
It was wonderful to see their curiosity, creativity, and growing awareness of the world around them!

👨🚒🚒 Fire Brigade Visit 🚒👨🚒
As a follow-up to Community Week and our recent Emergency Evacuation Drill Week, the children were excited to welcome our local firefighters for a special visit today.
Shortly after arriving, the firefighters were called away to attend a real emergency. This unexpected moment became a valuable learning experience, as the children watched the firefighters quickly prepare and respond to the call in real time, gaining a firsthand understanding of the important role they play in keeping our community safe.
Fortunately, the firefighters were able to return later and continue their visit. The children enjoyed learning about the equipment firefighters use and watched a demonstration of how quickly a firefighter can put on their protective uniform. They also had the opportunity to take turns using the fire hose, which was a definite highlight of the day!
To show our appreciation, the children presented the firefighters with a handmade thank-you card and some chocolates before waving goodbye and listening to the fire truck's sirens as they departed.
A big thank you to our local firefighters for taking the time to visit us and for the incredible work they do to keep our community safe every day. ❤️👨🚒🚒

National Reconciliation Week 🖤💛❤️
Throughout the week, the children participated in a range of meaningful experiences to acknowledge and celebrate National Reconciliation Week. Through stories, discussions, music, art, and cultural learning opportunities, the children explored the importance of respect, inclusion, and understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.
The children engaged in hands-on activities that encouraged them to learn about First Nations cultures, traditions, and connections to Country. These experiences fostered curiosity, empathy, and appreciation for the rich histories and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

🐝 World Bee Day 🐝
On the 20th of May, the children celebrated World Bee Day through a range of fun and engaging experiences.
We explored a sensory activity inspired by bees and nature, engaged in creative bee-themed arts and crafts, and enjoyed tasting honey together. 🍯
The children also watched a short educational video where they learned about how honey is made and discovered the fascinating life cycle of a bee.
It was a wonderful opportunity to spark curiosity, encourage conversation, and learn about the important role bees play in our world. 🌼💛
