Today team from HopePoint ELC joined the day of action for community preschools, appealing to the NSW Government to fund a pay rise for our sector. Did you know we are paid 30% less than school teachers & educators, & didn’t receive the 15% wage increase that long day care educators received. We deserve equal pay & parents shouldn’t have to pay higher fees for that to happen. Support us by liking

As part of National Child Protection week, we will be sharing some resources to assist families in a range of aspects relating to child protection and safety.

Did you know that 1 in 4 Australians aged 16 and older reported experiencing sexual abuse as a child. This most commonly occurs by someone the child knows (Australian Child Maltreatment Study, 2023).

Consent is one way you can help protect your child. Consent is not just related to sexual abuse, it covers all aspects of a child's day. Asking children for a hug, if you can help them on the toilet or if you can take a photo teaches them that they have the right to say no, even to family members. Just as adults have the right to say no if they feel uncomfortable, so do children, and we need to respect that.

HopePoint ELC is committed to protecting children and empowering them to engage in safe ways. We implement consent daily and in everything that we do. Teaching children they have a right to say no and be heard by adults is so important to help protect them. We strongly encourage parents to read the fact sheet and website below and begin implementing some strategies within your family. Protecting children for the future starts now, and it's everyone's job.

If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to one of our educators or contact Brenda.

Dear families,

As part of National Child Protection week, we will be sharing some resources to assist families in a range of aspects relating to child protection and safety.

Did you know that 1 in 5 children aged 4-7 have an increased risk of being exploited online, including bullying, grooming and exposure to inappropriate content. As children get older, their risks online increase exponentially. Since COVID-19, there has been an 82% increase in online grooming cases against children.

HopePoint ELC is committed to protecting children online and empowering them to engage in safe ways. We can only do so much, as many children use digital technologies or online environments outside of our care. We strongly encourage parents to read the fact sheet below and begin implementing some strategies within your family. Protecting children for the future starts now, and it's everyone's job.

If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to one of our educators or contact Brenda.

Today is Early Childhood Educators Day and what a team of educators we have here at HopePoint ELC. I am so proud of the work they do to create a safe and engaging learning environment for the children in our care. But they are always thinking, planning, reflecting and growing in their practices to take what we do a step further. Thankyou team for going above and beyond. I pray blessings over you and hope that Jesus meets you where you are at as you spend time with him daily using the devotional gifts. You are amazing!!!!

New resources have been developed to support parents and carers understand what a child safe practice looks like and initiate conversations with ECEC services about their child safe practices.

👉🏼Services are encouraged to share these with families through their channels.

It’s been a hard week in the ECEC world, & our prayers go out to the children & families from VIC, caught up in the recent abuse case.

We also understand that families may have questions about how to keep their children attending ECEC safe. This will be a great discussion to help equip families. If you have any ideas we can adopt in addition to the many child safe practices we already practice, we’d love to hear from you.

Is my child safe?

The horrific child abuse allegations in early learning centres have left families across Australia reeling — fearful, angry, and unsure who to trust.

If you’re a parent or carer who relies on early childhood education and care — or will soon — you deserve clarity, confidence and support.

Together with Lisa Bryant, expert and advocate for early childhood education and care & Deanne Carson CEO of , our CEO will be hosting a free online Parent Town Hall event to help you understand what’s happening, how to keep your child safe and how we can work together to make the system stronger.

When: 7.30-8.30pm AEST Tuesday 15 July, 2025

Where: Online, via Zoom. RSVP to receive the link

This town hall will help you:
✅ Understand what high-quality, safe early childhood education and care looks and feels like
✅ Learn how the current system works — and where it’s failing
✅ Know what questions to ask your provider
✅ Empower your children through body safety education
✅ Take action to demand systemic reform

Register now for this online event and join us via Zoom next Tuesday.
