Celebrating this year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories”, our Book Fair is bringing the joy of books and storytelling into our learning environment. 🎶📖

Exploring books supports children’s early literacy, language and communication skills, while building confidence and a love of reading — important foundations for a positive transition to school and lifelong learning. 🌱✨

🌾🐄 Our Lowan Room has been busy exploring farm life! 🐑🐖
Our little learners have been enjoying this hands-on Farm Animals Sensory Tray, where they explored different textures, developed their fine motor skills, and let their imaginations run wild with their favourite farm animals. Sensory play is such a wonderful way to encourage curiosity, creativity, and learning through play. 💚

🌿 Learning at Leylands goes beyond our centre walls! 🌿

At Leylands, learning isn’t only experienced within our centre environment—it extends into our families, our community, and even our local park! 💚

Our local park, conveniently located just across the road from our service, provides the perfect opportunity for children to continue their learning through hands-on exploration and community linking. During our excursions, the children enjoy discovering the beauty of nature, running across the open fields, and searching for the different creatures we’ve been learning about.

These experiences encourage curiosity, build confidence, strengthen our connection with the local community, and inspire a lifelong love of the natural world.

This week, our children and educators have been celebrating NAIDOC Week through meaningful experiences that honour and celebrate the histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Throughout the week, we’ve enjoyed stories, art, music, creative activities, and conversations that encourage respect, curiosity, and an appreciation for the world’s oldest continuing cultures. These experiences help our children build a deeper understanding of Country, community, and the importance of belonging.

We’re so proud to share some of the special moments from our NAIDOC Week celebrations. Thank you to our wonderful children, families, and educators for making this week so memorable. ❤️

At Leylands Learning Centre, we believe that continuous learning helps us provide the very best care and education for every child. 🌱

This week, our team participated in professional development focused on understanding how to support children as they move from dysregulation to regulation, while strengthening our inclusive, child-centred approach to early learning.

One of the most valuable takeaways from the training was a simple but powerful reminder: Children’s rights should always come first. 💙

Our educators also developed practical strategies to better support children’s emotions, build positive relationships, and respond with empathy and understanding. We explored how children’s brains develop and how this knowledge helps us create safe, nurturing environments where every child can thrive.

We are proud of our team’s commitment to growing their knowledge and continually reflecting on best practice, ensuring every child at Leylands Learning Centre feels seen, heard, respected, and supported every day. ✨

🚀🌎 What an out-of-this-world adventure we had today!
Our children were excited to welcome Planet Lava for a fantastic incursion, performed by Milk Crate Circus Through an engaging story about a rocket ship and a journey to a fascinating planet, the children were immersed in a world of imagination, creativity, and dramatic play.
This experience was thoughtfully planned to support children’s learning in creativity and drama, encouraging them to imagine, explore, communicate, and express themselves through storytelling and interactive performance. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, laughter, and enthusiasm as they became part of the adventure.
A big thank you to Milk Crate Circus for delivering such an engaging and memorable experience. We loved every moment! 💫✨

Growing, Learning & Striving for Excellence 🌱

Continuous improvement is at the heart of everything we do.

At our recent staff meeting, our team embraced the opportunity to learn something new, refresh our thinking, and explore different ideas to further enhance our curriculum. Through meaningful discussions and critical reflection, we challenged ourselves to think about our daily practices and routines, ensuring we continue to meet and respond to the individual needs of every child.

As educators, we know that learning never stops. By reflecting on our practice and remaining open to new ideas, we're able to provide richer, more intentional learning experiences for the children and families in our community.

One message from our Centre Director really resonated with the team:
"We're not going to stay where we're at. We'll keep taking steps until we become one of the best early childhood education services."

This is more than just a goal - it's our commitment. Every small step we take, every conversation we have, and every improvement we make is driven by our passion to provide the highest quality care and education for the children entrusted to us.
