Mini Master Chef Meets Munch & Move ππ
This week, the Caterpillars combined their Munch & Move focus on healthy eating with our Mini Master Chef cooking program.
The children were each invited to take a turn making delicious Berry Yoghurt Cups by adding bananas and fresh berries to yoghurt before popping them into the freezer to set.
Through this hands-on cooking experience, the children learned about:
π Healthy food choices and nutrition
π Exploring different fruits through taste, touch and smell
π©βπ³ Following simple instructions and recipes
π€² Developing fine motor skills through pouring, scooping and placing ingredients
π£οΈ Building language skills through conversations about healthy foods
β³ Practising patience and turn-taking with peers
πͺ Developing independence and confidence in the kitchen
π Understanding that healthy foods can be fun and delicious
Activities such as these help children develop lifelong healthy habits while fostering confidence, independence and a positive relationship with food.

Puffy Paint Experiment π¨
The Butterflies had so much fun taking part in their puffy paint experiment! As part of our Creative Arts learning project, the children took turns making and using homemade puffy paint.
They had a blast mixing the ingredients, choosing colours, and watching their artwork puff up in the microwave before their eyes. This hands-on experience encouraged creativity, sensory exploration, and self-expression, while also supporting fine motor development and building confidence through art-making. π

π¦ School Readiness β Butterfly Room π¦
Another fantastic week of school readiness learning in the Butterfly Room!
This week, our Butterflies focused on developing their drawing skills βοΈ Through a variety of creative experiences, the children were encouraged to express their ideas and imagination while strengthening their fine motor skills. They practiced correct pencil grip, control, and coordination as they engaged in mark making and early drawing attempts.
Throughout the experience, the children also explored important early learning concepts such as shape recognition π·πΊ and animal recognition ππ¦. These opportunities supported their growing understanding of symbols, patterns, and the world around them.
A big focus was also placed on social learning, with the children working collaboratively, sharing ideas, and learning from one another π This helped to build confidence, communication skills, and a sense of belonging within the group.
We are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the Butterflies have been during school readiness activities, and we look forward to seeing their skills continue to grow each week π±β¨

π Book Reviews π
We hope you have all been loving the new books in our library, as well as our new book review section!
Havenβt joined in on the fun yet? Hereβs how you can get involved:
Borrow a book and:
βοΈ Write a short review of the book
βοΈ Sign your name
π¨ Draw a picture
π Or even just say βHi!β to the next reader
This new system is a fun way for children to think about the stories they read, share their thoughts β whether they loved the book or not β and connect with one another through reading. You might leave a βοΈ, a β, or a little drawing for the next reader to enjoy!
π If you have any borrowed books at home, please remember to return them so everyone has a chance to enjoy them.
π We are also happily accepting book donations, so if you have any books at home you would like to donate, please feel free to add them to our library.
We canβt wait to see all the creative reviews and messages you leave for each other. Happy reading! πβ¨
