Farewell Mrs Brannan 💙
Today we say farewell to our wonderful Principal, Mrs Brannan, with hearts full of gratitude and appreciation.
Thank you for leading our school community with such care, respect and compassion. Your kindness, wisdom and unwavering support have touched the lives of so many students, families and staff. You have always encouraged us to believe in ourselves, embrace every opportunity, and let our light shine.
Your leadership has nurtured a community where everyone feels valued, included and inspired. While we will miss you very much, we are incredibly grateful for the difference you have made and the legacy you leave behind.
The Eileen O’Connor School is very lucky to have you, and we know you will continue to make a positive impact wherever your journey takes you.

🏃‍♀️ The Great Race Colour Run 2026! 🏃‍♂️🌈
What an incredible day of fun, laughter, colour and community spirit at our annual Great Race Colour Run! Students, staff and families enjoyed an unforgettable event filled with excitement, energy and plenty of colour.
A huge thank you to Motiv8 for bringing the fun and keeping everyone moving, and a very special thanks to our amazing P&F for their hard work in organising such a fantastic day. Your support and dedication helped create wonderful memories for our students and school community.
Seeing so many smiling faces covered in colour was a reminder of what makes our school so special – coming together, having fun and celebrating as a community.

🤖🐸 Stage 1 Robotics Fun! 🐸🤖

Our Stage 1 students have been exploring the exciting world of robotics using LEGO! Working collaboratively, they built their own machines and learned how to program them using iPads.

Last week students brought their creations to life by building and coding a frog that could leap across the ground! It was wonderful to see their creativity, problem-solving skills and perseverance in action as they experimented, tested and refined their designs.

What an engaging way to develop STEM skills while having plenty of fun! 🌟

What a busy weekend of OLGC community events!

✝️ On Saturday evening, we celebrated our Family Mass, which was a beautiful and joyful gathering for our community.
A special thank you to Fr Shiju, who was our presider, and to Susanne for her wonderful organisation and preparation.

We are also very grateful to Nathan and Chris for leading the choir. The choir sang so beautifully and added a special warmth to our celebration.

In his reflection on the Gospel, Fr Shiju reminded us of the importance of loving one another and living out this message in our daily lives.

After Mass, the children enjoyed sharing pizza and garlic bread together, making it a lovely evening of faith, friendship and fellowship.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our Family Mass such a special occasion.

🎶 On Sunday our Training and Performance bands performed at Swain Gardens. It was a
Spectacular day with outstanding performances by both bands.

Thank you to our Band Leader, Felicity Stanwell, for preparing and leading the children so well.

On Thursday 10 September, our Year 6 students from St Martin’s, Davidson and OLGC, Forestville participated in the Alpha Program at St Anthony’s, Terrey Hills.

During the day, Anne and Bryan from our Parish welcomed our students, gave them a tour, and led them in prayer and song. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to reflect, connect and grow in their faith.

We sincerely thank our dedicated teachers for their organisation and for preparing the students so thoughtfully for the day.

The students found the experience very beneficial, particularly as they begin preparing for the exciting transition to high school. It was a meaningful day of reflection, friendship and faith.

🦒🐨 Roars, growls, squawks and smiles!
Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic excursion to Taronga Zoo, where they learned all about animals and the habitats that help them thrive. Students loved observing the animals up close and discovering fascinating facts about creatures from around the world.
The joy and excitement on their faces throughout the day showed just how much learning can happen beyond the classroom walls.
Miss Biasi and Mrs Conn were so proud of the students for being respectful, engaged and eager learners. Congratulations, Year 1, on representing our school so wonderfully! 🌟

✨ Celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation ✨
Over the weekend, we were delighted to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with our students. It was a beautiful and faith-filled occasion as our students were confirmed and proudly took the names of their chosen Saints.
We extend our sincere thanks to Fr Satheesh, Fr Shiju, and Susanne Bragge for their dedication in preparing and organising such a meaningful celebration for our students and families. We also thank all of our teachers who supported the children throughout their preparation journey.
As a school community, we pray that our newly confirmed students continue to grow in faith, guided and strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. May they be inspired to live with courage, compassion and hope as they continue their faith journey.
Congratulations to all our students and their families on this special milestone! 💙🕊️
