This morning, the Rising Stars took part in an exciting intentional teaching experience where they became city planners and builders! Using numbered instruction cards, the children carefully counted and selected the correct number of LEGO blocks to construct their own unique city. As they built, they explored concepts of counting, number recognition, and measurement, creating buildings of all different heights and lengths. The children were proud to compare their towering skyscrapers and smaller structures, working together to design a vibrant LEGO city while developing their mathematical and problem-solving skills through play.

All About Sharks! 🦈🌊
The children in the Rising Stars Room have shown a keen interest in sharks, sea animals, and seashells. To extend their curiosity, we the educators created a program of the world of sharks and other marine life through stories, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning experiences. The Children discovered interesting facts about ocean creatures, their habitats, and the important role they play in our environment.

I would like to congratulate the entire team at Early Beginnings on the excellent result we recently received from the Department of Education following our Assessment and Rating visit.
Assessment and Rating is an important process that evaluates the quality of education and care provided by the service, as well as our practices across all seven National Quality Standard (NQS) Quality Areas. I am incredibly proud to share that we achieved a Meeting National Quality Standard rating in all seven Quality Areas.
This achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of our educators who work tirelessly each day to provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children and families.
Thank you also to all the families who wished us well and supported us throughout the process. Your encouragement and partnership are greatly appreciated.

Baking damper
Our little chefs had a wonderful time baking traditional damper during today's activities.
Cooking experiences help children develop confidence, fine motor skills, teamwork, and an appreciation for different foods and cultures. Best of all, they loved tasting their freshly baked damper!

Exploring Indigenous Culture in Our Rising Star room.

Today in our Rising Stars room the children explored Indigenous culture through a meaningful experience inspired by the Rainbow Serpent, an important figure in Aboriginal Dreaming stories.

Using colourful bottle tops, the children worked together to create their own Rainbow Serpent while exploring colours, patterns, creativity, and imagination .
This experience also encouraged conversations about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and reusing materials in creative ways.

We love creating opportunities that support children in developing an appreciation for First Nations cultures through hands-on learning experiences.

Today we focused on School Readiness through our Crunch & Sip routine.
The children brought lunch boxes from home filled with healthy fruits and proudly practiced opening and closing their lunch boxes, unpacking items from their bags, and packing them away independently.

School readiness is not only about academics — it is also about building confidence, independence, and everyday life skills that support a smooth transition to school.

🌟 School Readiness Program Starting This April! 🌟

We are excited to introduce our School Readiness Program for our Preschool children who will be transitioning to school in 2027!

Through our weekly program, children will build confidence, independence, and essential skills while engaging in experiences that reflect real-life school routines, including:

Safe walking excursions within our local community
Planned visits to our local school and community garden
Developing social skills, friendships, and teamwork
Engaging in fun, play-based literacy and numeracy activities
Building independence through routines such as Lunchbox Week and self-care practices

Our School Readiness Program is designed to support each child to feel confident, capable, and excited as they begin their journey to school in 2027.
