Dear parents,
We are very sad to inform you that we have to stop the operation of Kim’s Kindy.
Most of you have already heard about what happened to our centre. On Wednesday 26th June at around 9pm, Kindy was set on fire. According to police, the fire was caused by 3 explosions in an attack against our centre. CCTV footage released by the police show the attacker fleeing the building shortly after the fire started. When the Fire Brigade arrived, the front building was already destroyed beyond repair.
This cowardly act against Kim’s Kindy not only attacks our family and business, but also you, the parents, children and the community. We have been running Kim’s Kindy since 2002 and have built up strong relationships and trust with all the families that have sent their children to our centre over the past 17 years.
We apologise to all the families who are inconvenienced by this tragic incident and now have to look for new places for their children. If you are unable to find care for your child, please contact the Department of Education. There is emergency childcare available in the local area for all families at Kim’s Kindy. We have already forwarded an email from the Department with more information.
Kim’s Kindy has been a fun, loving and safe environment for all the children to grow, learn and play. We will not be discouraged by this act of violence and will be working hard to create this environment again and reopen Kim’s Kindy as the police bring the perpetrators to justice.
From next week, we will begin clearing all your accounts. We will refund any outgoing credit, bonds and deposits paid. If you still have any outstanding fees, we will greatly appreciate it if you please pay these as soon as possible.
On behalf of all the staff here at Kim’s Kindy, we wish all the children and families the best of luck at the new centres. We appreciate your continued support and will keep you updated with any developments.
Kind regards,
John and Sally.
