❤️ FAREWELL ❤️ to Sages’ little friends! Sage has been so lucky to have new friends to play with everyday for the last 15 months. I’ve been blessed with having beautiful families and children to care for and have formed some special friendships over the last 5 years that will continue for a lifetime. We can’t wait to catch up for some play dates once Sage has taken on her new role as a big sister and life has gone back to normal. With lots of love always, Beca, Tagan & Sage # # #

BAKING 🧁
Last week Lyla and Sage worked together to bake cupcakes for Lyla’s last day. They helped measure, pour, mix and watched as the cupcakes rose in the oven. So many concepts being learnt here including, measurements, number recognition, following a recipe and observing the cupcakes form into a solid from a liquid. The best part was eating them!

⭐️ HAPPY LAST DAY LYLA! ⭐️ Thank you for being one of Sages’ first friend. We have loved watching you take your first steps, babble and boogie with us for the last year. 💕

BABY WASHING 🧼
The children loved taking care of their babies this week. We set up one sink for the bubble bath and the other with a towel for drying. We used small cloths to wash all of the babies body parts while naming them. A fun way to learn about self-care, independence and caring for others ❤️

❤️ FIRST & LAST DAY ❤️ Archie was the first little friend to start at Beca’s FDC with Sage last year at just 10 months old (Sage was 5 months). Look how much our babies have grown and what a special bond they have created. This is what family day care is all about. Sage asks for Archie all weekend and knows the first knock of the door in the morning is going to be him, as she yells his name with excitement! We know this special friendship will continue for a lifetime. We love you so much Archie! # # #

ANZAC DAY 🎖
Today’s Anzac Day experience using coloured rice and red cupcake cases to represent poppy flowers. The children always enjoy sensory experiences, (especially rice) and this one was no exception.

TRUCKS!
Yesterday we spent some time watching the big trucks on our street that were resurfacing the road. I’ve never seen children sit so still and focused for such a long time. This encouraged the children to be more aware of things around us and the world in which we live. You are welcome back anytime trucks! (Just not at nap time 😊)

🐰 HAPPY EASTER! 🐣 Yesterday’s Easter egg hunt was a success! We hope everyone has a happy and safe Easter long weekend with their little bunnies ❤️

EGG SCOOPING AND SORTING 🥚
Our Easter activities have started and this week we used the eggs to practice our scooping skills then extended this to colour sorting into the corresponding bowls.

MUNDA COMMUNITY GARDEN 🪴
First excursion for 2021 was a huge success! The children loved traveling on the Waverley council bus to the park and enjoyed exploring all the veggies and herbs planted in the garden. We listened to the birds while we had a snack and read a story about birds before heading home. This beautiful community garden has inspired us to try start our veggie and herb garden up again. Wish us luck 😉 We are so lucky to have such a supportive team that love taking us out to explore our local community. Thank you Louise and Natalie, the children had the best morning!

FROZEN ROSES 🌹
Yesterday’s frozen roses and rose petal play allowed us to reuse the flowers for exploring and play before they ended in the bin. The children used their sense of touch to explore the texture of the flowers and petals, the cold of the ice and the softness of the water. They used the scoops to collect the rose petals and transfer them to the bowls.
