Building water confidence whilst building up a post-swimming lesson appetite 💦

🚨 Did you know? Accidental falls into water account for ~77% of drownings in toddlers and young children aged 0-4 years old?

In this age group, they're curious and mobile but can’t recognise danger around water.
Most incidents happen quickly and silently, often in just a few seconds.

What you can do:
💦 Always supervise your child within arm’s reach near water.
💦 Enrol them in swimming lessons to build water confidence and essential safety skills.

Water is fun but awareness and safety comes first!

At social events such as parties, BBQ's and family gatherings with pools, spas or water features, when everyone is responsible, sometimes no one is.

These are the moments when supervision can slip, because everyone
assumes someone else is watching.

Here's 3 things you can action:
📢Assign someone to be on 'Water Watch' duty
🔄️Tag you're it: If you're on duty and you need to step away, tag
someone to step in.
👀Active supervision: Stay distraction-free when you're on duty!

Let’s take a step to being more mindful in making gatherings safer for every child.

Did you know toddler drowning incidents peak between 4:30pm–5:30pm on weeknights?

It’s the busy hour - arriving home after pick up, dinner prep, end-of-day chaos.

Distractions increase and so does risk!

If your child is around water during this time, maintain constant visual supervision.
