Term 1: Rooted in Christ
Week 7: Growing Through Challenges
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students continued their Rooted in Christ unit by learning about how God uses challenges to help us grow, based on James 1:2–4. They explored how difficult situations can strengthen faith, build perseverance, and shape character. Through discussion and reflection, students considered real-life challenges and how they can trust God through them. In preparation for the upcoming Palm Sunday, students also completed Hosanna colouring activities, helping them reflect on the significance of praising Jesus as King. The lesson reminded them that being rooted in Christ means continuing to grow in faith, even during hard times, and trusting that God is working for good in every season.

Term 1: Rooted in Christ
Week 6: Standing Firm Against Pressure
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students continued their Rooted in Christ unit by learning about standing firm in their faith, even when faced with pressure. Through the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3, they explored what it means to choose God over the crowd. Students reflected on real-life situations where they may feel pressured to make the wrong choices and discussed how being rooted in Christ gives them the courage to stand strong. The lesson reminded them that following Jesus means doing what is right, even when it is difficult, and trusting that God is always with them.

Week 5: Faith-Based Film
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students continued their Rooted in Christ unit by watching a faith-based film based on the unit theme. The film encouraged students to reflect on the importance of staying grounded in Jesus and remaining strong in faith through different circumstances. Through this experience, they were reminded that when we are rooted in Christ, our lives grow stronger, steadier, and more shaped by His truth.

Week 4: God’s Word as Our Foundation
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students continued their Rooted in Christ unit by learning about building their lives on God’s Word, based on Matthew 7:24–27. Through the parable of the wise and foolish builders, they explored the importance of not only hearing God’s Word but putting it into practice. Students reflected on how God’s Word provides a strong foundation that helps them stand firm through life’s challenges. The lesson reminded them that being rooted in Christ means living out Scripture daily and building their lives on the truth of God’s Word.

Week 3: Trusting God When Life Is Hard
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students continued their Rooted in Christ unit by learning about trusting God during difficult times, inspired by the story of Jesus calming the storm (Mark 4:35–41). They reflected on how, even when life feels overwhelming, Jesus is always present and in control. Through discussion and practical activities, students explored real-life situations where they can place their trust in God and rely on His guidance. The lesson reminded them that being rooted in Christ means standing firm in faith, trusting God in every season, both in calm moments and during life’s storms.

Week 2: Knowing Jesus Personally
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students continued their Rooted in Christ unit by exploring what it means to know Jesus personally, based on John 17:3. They learned that faith is about having a real relationship with Jesus, not just knowing facts about Him. During the lesson, a senior Sunday School student led part of the discussion through peer teaching, helping guide reflection and encourage meaningful participation. Through conversation and application, students identified practical ways to grow closer to Jesus through prayer, reading God’s Word, and spending time with Him each day.

Term 1: Rooted in Christ
Week 1: What Does It Mean to Be Rooted in Christ?
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students began the new Rooted in Christ unit by exploring what it means to be rooted in Jesus, based on Colossians 2:6–7. They learned that just as a tree needs deep roots to grow strong and stand firm, our faith needs to be firmly grounded in Christ. Through discussion and reflection, students identified ways to grow strong spiritual roots through prayer, God’s Word, and trusting Jesus daily. The lesson reminded them that being rooted in Christ helps us grow in faith and remain steady in every season of life.

Term 4: Hearts Like His
Week 7: A Heart of Gratitude
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students concluded their Hearts Like His unit by learning about gratitude through the story of the Ten Lepers in Luke 17:11–19. They reflected on how only one man returned to thank Jesus, reminding us that gratitude is a choice and a response of faith. Students discussed how having a thankful heart draws us closer to God and helps us recognise His blessings. The lesson also encouraged them to practise gratitude during the upcoming Christmas season, remembering to thank God not only for gifts, but for Jesus Himself and the many blessings He gives us each day.

Term 4: Hearts Like His
Week 6: A Heart of Honesty
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students continued their Hearts Like His unit by learning about honesty through the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1–10. They explored how meeting Jesus led Zacchaeus to tell the truth, take responsibility for his actions, and make things right. Students reflected on the importance of choosing honesty in their own lives, even when it is difficult. The lesson reminded them that having a heart like Jesus means living truthfully and allowing God to transform our hearts through integrity and trustworthiness.

Week 5: A Heart of Patience
Saint Zaia Cathedral Sunday School students continued their Hearts Like His unit by learning about patience through the story of Abraham and God’s promise. They reflected on how Abraham waited many years, trusting that God would keep His word in His perfect time. Students discussed times when they need patience in their own lives and how waiting can strengthen their faith. The lesson reminded them that having a heart like Jesus means trusting God’s timing and believing that His promises are always fulfilled.
