Local firefighters visited The Pines Academy Early Learning Centre, providing a valuable opportunity to build upon the knowledge gained from emergency evacuation drills and various safety discussions, including fire safety procedures. The children participated in an informative presentation by the firefighters and engaged in a hands-on experience with the water hoses. Thank you firefighters for visiting us and Pines family member organising this.

Walking on the land- As part of Reconciliation Week , preschoolers attended a session at Campbelltown Art Centre focused on Aboriginal culture. Children observed first displays of baskets and artworks, following discussions on basket-making techniques, their purpose, including carrying babies, and the materials used. Following this, the children drew their own basket designs and items they would carry. After that children particpated in the clay making and exploring Aboriginal symbols through clay modelling.
Thank you very much hosting us and sharing the knowledge.

Reconciliation Week is in full action at our service. Throughout the week, educators have set up learning experiences that encourage children to explore First Nations cultures, perspectives, and ways of knowing, being, and doing. That includes exploring Aboriginal colours and symbols, followed by hands-on sensory experiences using natural resources such as leaves and herbs to create playdough. Through these play-based activities, children are developing creativity, fine motor skills, language, sensory awareness, and a deeper connection to the natural environment while learning about Australia’s rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
