Learning through Storytelling & Culture
Today our children gathered together for a beautiful group learning experience, exploring Aboriginal symbols and storytelling through books, natural resources and meaningful discussions. 🖤💛❤️
Using stones and symbol cards representing elements such as mountains, rain, stars, waterholes and the sun and moon, the children were encouraged to observe, wonder and share their ideas as we explored connection to Country and the stories nature can tell.
These experiences support children to build a deeper understanding of culture, belonging, listening and respect, while encouraging curiosity, communication and a love of learning through shared group experiences.
We love creating opportunities for children to learn about and celebrate the rich histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in meaningful and engaging ways.

💛 Community Kindness in Action 💛
A huge thank you to our incredible families for your generous donations to Hills Community Food Aid. Because of your kindness, we were able to contribute a wonderful collection of pantry essentials and food items to help support local families doing it tough.
At our centre, we value teaching children the importance of compassion, community and helping others, and this has been such a meaningful way to come together and make a difference.
We are so grateful for the generosity shown by our families and community — every donation, big or small, helps support those in need. Thank you for helping us spread kindness beyond our centre walls 💙

After lots of excitement, conversations, and suggestions from the children, families and educators.. our chickens have names!
The children have absolutely loved helping care for our feathered friends, learning about responsibility, gentle hands, sustainability, and where our food comes from. Our chickens have quickly become a special part of our learning environment and daily routines. 💛

Yesterday 10 of our children enjoyed a beautiful visit to Dudley Foord House, spending meaningful time with the residents and building those special intergenerational connections 🤍
We caught the bus there and back, which made the day feel like a real little adventure!
The children loved helping to water the plants, sharing morning tea together, and sitting side by side colouring and chatting. There were so many lovely moments of connection, smiles, and stories shared.
One of our educators also had a special moment connecting with fellow Fijians, building a meaningful cultural connection that made the visit even more personal 💛
Such a special experience for everyone involved

Every Friday is a highlight at our centre with our Kelly Sports program 🏃♀️⚽️
The children absolutely love their sessions with Coach Teddy, who brings so much energy, fun and encouragement to every game and activity. It’s been wonderful to see the children building their confidence, teamwork skills and most importantly, a love for being active.
This fantastic program supports children’s physical health and wellbeing, and we are so grateful that it is fully funded by Goodstart Kellyville Ridge.
We can’t wait for more fun-filled Fridays

Today, we pause to acknowledge and remember the significance of ANZAC Day.
This week we took time to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country. We honour their stories in ways that are meaningful and age-appropriate for our children—through conversations, symbols, and moments of quiet reflection.
Lest we forget.

🐔 Meet Our Newest Feathered Friends! 🐔
We are so excited to introduce the newest members of our centre community – our three beautiful Brahma chickens!
Brahmas are known for their calm and gentle nature, which makes them the perfect companions for our much-loved Silkie, who is now our last remaining chicken. Our goal in choosing this breed was to create a peaceful, balanced environment where all of our chickens can feel safe and supported 🐥
The children have already shown so much curiosity and care as they observe, interact with, and help look after our new arrivals. These experiences are such a valuable way to build empathy, responsibility, and a deeper connection with living things 🌿
✨ Now we need your help!
What should we call them? We would love name suggestions from our families and children – pop your ideas in the comments or share them with our educators!
