Yarning About Animals on Country 🖤💛❤️
This little rhythm poem isn’t just for kinder groups — it can become a fun movement game for all ages, even for toddlers.
Children can call out, “Where’s the wallaby?” while another group answers, “There’s the wallaby!” and then hop like wallabies. You can do the same for emus, bats, platypuses, and more — turning each animal into a little movement or clapping rhythm.
For the youngest ones, you can even add a gentle clap-along: “Where’s the wallaby? There’s the wallaby! Boing, boing, boing” with little hands clapping or knees tapping.
It’s a simple, joyful way to help little ones connect to Country through play, rhythm, and imagination. More nature-based ideas coming soon!
