🚚🚀 From deliveries to deep space!

Today, one of our curious preschoolers used blocks to create a delivery truck, sharing ideas about how food reaches homes and supermarkets. The play then transformed into an exciting space adventure, with discussions about rockets, Mars, and the Moon!

Through imaginative play and construction, children develop creativity, problem-solving skills, communication, and early STEM thinking as they explore how the world works around them.

Today, our Kidzville community observed National Sorry Day a time to acknowledge the Stolen Generations and reflect on the journey toward healing and reconciliation.
In early education, we teach the foundation of this day through age-appropriate values: kindness, belonging, and respect. Today, our little learners explored these concepts through hands-on experiences:
📖 Storytelling: Reading First Nations stories that celebrate connection to family and Country.
🌱 Caring for Country: Spending time in nature to learn how we can protect the land we play on.
🤝 Unity Art: Creating collaborative artwork to symbolise friendship and walking forward together.
Did you know? National Sorry Day (May 26th) marks the eve of National Reconciliation Week (May 27–June 3). It’s a wonderful opportunity to talk with your children tonight about how simple acts of kindness and inclusion can make our community a better place for everyone. 🧡

At Kidzville ELC, National Allergy Week helps children learn about allergy awareness, safety, inclusion, and caring for others through meaningful discussions and hands-on experiences.

We also use our KV Safety Book, which shares amazing children’s voices and perspectives around allergies and keeping their friends safe.

Sometimes the simplest additions to our environment create the richest learning opportunities 🎃✨

By adding pumpkins into our preschool room, the children’s curiosity instantly came alive. Questions, conversations, predictions, and hands-on exploration naturally unfolded as they investigated the pumpkins’ shapes, textures, colours, and what might be hiding inside.

What began as a simple addition quickly evolved into meaningful learning experiences supporting language development, sensory exploration, critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative learning.

The children shared ideas, asked thoughtful questions, counted seeds, compared sizes, and explored their own theories through play and discussion.

A beautiful reminder that learning often begins with curiosity, and even the simplest resources can inspire wonder, imagination, and deeper thinking 🌱🧡

Family Week at Kidzville ELC was filled with meaningful family involvement, amazing set-ups, children’s voices, and beautiful literature experiences throughout our learning spaces.
