Do you want to learn Italian, but don’t know where to start? We have a fabulous new Italian class starting up on Wednesdays 10am - 12pm, and you need to give it a go.

Dates: 29 July 2026 – 30 Sept 2026 (10 sessions)

You’ll learn the basics of Italian in a simple, practical, and relaxed way: speaking, understanding, reading, and building real conversations from the very first lessons. A welcoming space where you can practice and grow confident with the language.

Classes are led by Manuela, a native Italian tutor who has been living in Sydney for the past 8 years and is part of the local community.

Il nostro Book Club LibrInsieme torna finalmente in presenza al termine della consueta maratona letteraria per commentare e discutere insieme la cinquina finalista del prestigioso Premio Strega, giunto quest’anno alla sua 80ª edizione.

La serata sarà un’occasione per parlare di letteratura contemporanea e di lettura condivisa, ma soprattutto per presentare cinque libri di cui si parlerà sicuramente nei prossimi mesi. Non mancherà inoltre un momento di gioco e coinvolgimento del pubblico, per provare insieme a indovinare quale sarà il vincitore del premio!

Un’occasione perfetta per incontrarsi dal vivo, scambiarsi opinioni (anche accese, perché no 😄) e scoprire i cinque libri di cui sentiremo parlare ovunque nei prossimi mesi.

Il gruppo di lettura è un’iniziativa promossa dalla Dante Alighieri Society di Sydney, in collaborazione con l’Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Sydney, che da più di cinque anni riunisce con cadenza quindicinale, attraverso incontri virtuali, lettori appassionati di letteratura contemporanea in lingua italiana.

Nell’ambito del Premio Strega, in particolare, nelle ultime cinque edizioni del premio i lettori abituali del club hanno avuto la possibilità di esprimere un voto per la giuria popolare che seleziona i cinque libri finalisti a partire dalla rinomata “dozzina”, proposta dagli “Amici della Domenica” e successivamente selezionata dal comitato direttivo del Premio Strega.
