☔ It’s been a VERY wet 24 hours in NSW with more predicted severe weather to come.
Over the past 24 hours the NSW SES has had 836 active volunteers respond to 552 incidents with 7 flood rescues.
Today, The Bureau of Meteorology advises HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLASHING is forecast for the southern parts of the to the Metropolitan, , and Central districts from late this morning.
INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS and LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING is possible between the and from this evening into Saturday morning.
DAMAGING EASTERLY WINDS are possible from this evening along the coastal strip south of and including the Sydney metro area.
The NSW SES is advising people in the following areas to STAY INDOORS due to damaging winds, and heavy to intense rainfall: , , , , , .
👉 If you come across a flooded road, stop and find an alternate route.
👉 Avoid travel during this weather event if possible.
👉 Secure loose items around your yards which may become projectiles in strong winds.
👉 Prepare an emergency kit and plan with family what you will do during adverse weather.
👉 Monitor conditions, and take care on the roads.
👉 Never ride, walk, play or drive into flood waters.
👉 Avoid camping in low lying areas
