Mother's Day is a beautiful celebration of all the wonderful mothers and maternal figures in our lives, who often do not receive the recognition they truly deserve.

In the weeks leading up to Mother's Day, children engaged in discussions about their mums and the very important role they play in each of our lives. Children also spent time and care making cards and bracelets as a special gift for their mums.

We also hosted our annual Mother's Day Afternoon Tea, providing a lovely opportunity for our families to connect, and for our children and staff to show some love to the mums in our Creative Learning Community. Children sang a special song for their Mums and chose a rose especially for their Mum!

Such a beautiful event to celebrate these important women in our community!

We have been having a wonderful time exploring space today at Creative Learning!

The Bee Bot's were a favourite as they put on their space suits to explore the Solar System while experimenting with programming/ coding skills... Meanwhile, the astronauts in our small-world play were very dramatically exploring the moon and finding moon crystals, despite the frequent meteors that kept crashing all around, allowing children to get creative with their verbal storytelling... Geometric blocks provided a great medium for creating interesting space-themed designs like astronauts, stars and rocket ships while exploring early mathematical concepts such as shapes and patterns... Finally, the space-themed, positive affirmations hopscotch was a great way to practice 'moon jumping' as part of our space-themed obstacle course for building fundamental movement skills.

We had a fantastic day, learning through play at Creative Learning!!!

Happy Lunar New Year!!!

We have been celebrating at Creative Learning through art, storytelling, sensory play and exploring cultural traditions, and we still have lots more planned for the rest of the week!

Enjoying the last warm days of Summer, we held a water play fun day at Creative Learning this week.

Children had so much fun exploring the water - tipping and pouring, floating balls, spraying water, slipping and sliding all morning long!

So many beautiful smiles and squeals of joy - we think we will have another water play day soon!

Where is the Green Sheep?

Drawing inspiration from 'Where is the Green Sheep?' by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek, we have started a fun new literacy game at Creative Learning.

The Green Sheep hides in a new place every day, and children are encouraged to search for it. Once found, children are encouraged to explain or describe where the green sheep is, encouraging vocabulary development and descriptive language skills.

Additional images of the Green Sheep's colourful friends provide a prompt for children to further explore language and creative thinking as they describe the images, discuss what is happening in the image and predict what could happen next.

Wondering why we don't post children's faces on our social media platforms?

At Creative Learning, we believe that children's rights and privacy should be respected at all times, including online.

This means that we ask children who they would like to help them during private moments, such as with nappy changes and toileting, co-regulating big emotions with empathy and understanding, not allowing photos to be taken of children from unauthorised devices, and, of course, not posting faces online that are accessible to the general public and wider online community.

Instead, we show our environment set-ups, hands and body shots, or the back of children's heads to keep anonymity and privacy intact.

We wish we could share the beautiful smiles we see each and every day, but you will just have to book a tour to see for yourself!
