This week, Stage 2 students travelled in two groups on an exciting two-day camp to Bathurst and the Blue Mountains. Highlights included riding the Zig Zag Railway 🚂 in Lithgow, exploring the goldfields and panning for gold ⛏️ in Bathurst, and visiting the Australian Fossil Museum 🦴 and historic Abercrombie House 🏛️—the largest home in the Bathurst region. Students also walked in the footsteps of Blaxland, Lawson, and Wentworth, following the Mt York path over the mountains 🏞️, learning about the first road across the Blue Mountains, and reflecting on the enduring connection of Indigenous peoples to the land 🌿. A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers 🙏 for making this incredible learning adventure possible!

Congratulations to Denistone East A for qualifying for the semi-finals in the 2026 Ryde Community of Schools Chess Competition! ♟️🎉 Denistone East B showed fantastic dedication, sportsmanship, and positive conduct throughout the seven rounds—well done to all team members! 👏 Thank you to Meadowbank Public School for hosting this wonderful event. Kindergarten had an exciting first excursion to Calmsley Hill City Farm in Week 7! Linked to our Science unit on ‘Living Things,’ students observed and interacted with a variety of farm animals. Highlights included a tractor ride, milking a cow, a working dog show, sheep shearing, and even whip-cracking demonstrations. The students also practiced their scientific language, identifying birds, mammals, marsupials, and learning about nocturnal animals like foxes and wombats. A fantastic day full of hands-on learning and adventure!

A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C and volunteers for hosting a fantastic Father’s Day breakfast today for our school community! 🎉🎶 The band played beautifully, the senior choir sang with heart 🎤, and DEBASCA helped with card making 🎨✂️. Wishing all fathers and father figures a truly special day this Sunday. 👨‍👧‍👦💙

🎉 Congratulations to all our competitors and coaches at the Schoolaerobics National Championships this week! Senior and Year 3 Aerobics teams took home first place with gold🥇. Poms and Year 4 Aerobics achieved second place with silver🥈. Our Dance team and Boys Aerobics team each earned third place with bronze🥉. We’re so proud of your amazing achievements and hard work! 👏💙

🎉 Our SRC hosted a fantastic PJ Day last Thursday, raising funds for Stewart House! Students donned their favourite pyjamas and enjoyed lots of fun lunchtime activities. Thank you to everyone who joined in and supported Stewart House. We’re proud of our school community’s spirit! 🥳👕💜
