As we approach National Reconciliation Week 2026, we reflect on this years powerful theme: All in, a call for Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

Together we honour histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and continue to build meaningful connections for a more united future.

The Bluegums have been engaged in a cooking and food preparation project, recognising the value of cooking as an essential life skill that can be both educational and enjoyable. For preschoolers, cooking offers meaningful hands-on learning opportunities, allowing them to mix, pour, and explore a variety of foods. These experiences support the development of fine motor skills, language, and early mathematical concepts such as counting and measuring, while also fostering social skills like sharing and turn-taking. Additionally, cooking encourages children to try new foods and supports the development of healthy eating habits.
