I learn from my then 6-year old daughter who was born in Indonesia with no English when first time arrived in Australia. In her age 2.5 years old at that time, she cried all day at her preschool because of separation issue and English limitation. I found it was so amazing how quickly she picked up the language and now she speaks like native.

Lesson learned:
1. Take ownership of the new language so you will feel it belongs to you.
2. Make mistake. You learn from it.
3. Keep practising by using it.
4. Use technology.
