Apparently flowers have their own language. 🌼
I went down a little rabbit hole today and discovered:
Peonies = good fortune & a happy home
Jasmine = love & warmth
Hydrangeas = heartfelt gratitude
Sweet peas = blissful pleasure
And ranunculus apparently mean...
“I'm dazzled by your charms.”
Seriously. 😂
But my favourite?
💛 Yellow roses.
Friendship. Joy. Warmth. New beginnings.
Which feels rather perfect for the first day of spring.
Maybe that's why I've always loved them.
And here's another little thing I discovered...
Our sense of smell is strongly connected to memory and emotion.
Which explains why one smell can instantly transport you back to your grandmother's house, a childhood holiday, a person you loved or a garden you haven't thought about in years.
Homes are funny like that.
Sometimes it's not the benchtop or the square metres we remember.
It's how a place felt.
Anyway, that's my completely non-property property post for the day. 😂🌼
Happy Spring.
What's your favourite flower? And apparently more importantly... do you know what it means?
