How many kids can sit on teacher’s lap? 😂🎶
Apparently… quite a few! Challenge accepted! 🤣

Lap songs are so much more than just bouncing and giggling. 💛

When children sit on a grown-up’s lap, they can feel the music through movement — the steady beat, changes in tempo, rhythmic patterns, and even the structure of the song.

Through bouncing, rocking, swaying, stopping and starting, grown-ups provide a physical model of the music. This helps young children experience rhythm through their whole body, supporting their developing kinesthetic awareness, sense of beat, coordination, and musical anticipation.

And of course, there’s something else just as important: connection. 🥰
Shared movement, eye contact, touch, and lots of laughter make music a joyful social experience.

So… who’s next on Yumi’s lap? 😂

Isaac (15 months) missed the last two weeks because he was sick🥲 but look at him… he jumped right back in with his whole heart. 🥹💛

During our free play after class, we explored loud & soft, fast & slow, start & stop through music and movement. And of course… we couldn’t resist making some silly music together with our funny kazoo! 🎶😂

Every week, these little moments remind us how naturally children reconnect with music. 🤍

In Music Together, children learn through play, exploration, and participation. There is no pressure to perform—every child participates in their own unique way, supported by the adults who love them.

Babies, toddlers, preschoolers, siblings, parents, grandparents—everyone is welcome to join the music-making.

Our new mixed-age classes (0–5 years) officially started this week, and my heart is already so full! Seeing familiar faces again felt incredibly special, and welcoming new families has brought even more joy, energy, and music into our classroom 🥹
