To celebrate International Mother Language Day, our little learners welcomed a very special new friend to the centre: Wali!

"Wali" is the Dharug word for Ring-tailed Possum. Our children took part in the democratic process by holding a hand-vote to choose this beautiful name, connecting them directly with the traditional language of the land we play and learn on.

To introduce Wali, the children learned about the materials Aboriginal people used to keep their babies clean, warm, and comfortable.

We asked the children, "What does Wali like to eat?" Swipe to see their amazing drawings and suggestions - ranging from healthy apples and blueberries to a cheeky chocolate chip cookie! 🍪🍎

Discovery Week – Nursery Room 🌈✨

Our nursery children have had a wonderful start to Discovery Week!

Day 1 focused on sensory and visual exploration as the children engaged in a bubbles, calming light and movement experience. The glowing lights, music, and interactive props supported curiosity, visual tracking, and social engagement in a relaxing environment.

Day 2 brought colourful, taste-safe sensory play using coloured Greek yoghurt. The children explored textures and colour mixing through messy play, supporting creativity, sensory awareness, and early cause-and-effect learning.

We love seeing our little learners explore, discover, and grow through meaningful sensory experiences 💛

Our Nursery is going to be a sensory wonderland this week! From bubble discos to "messy makers" yogurt painting, our babies are diving into a world of texture, colour, and connection. 🌈

These friendly little robots are more than just toys - they are a hands-on introduction to the world of STEM. By playing with Bee-Bots, our children are learning:

✅Sequencing and how to put instructions in the right order.

✅Directional Language -Mastering terms like left, right, forward, and backward.

✅Logical Thinking - Problem-solving to get their bee from point A to point B!

"My child has been attending Papilio Early Learning North Strathfield (Orange Campus) since she was 5 months old (starting in 2022), and our almost 4 years experience has been absolutely wonderful. Over all these years, I have never had a single issue.

All the staff are amazing, caring, and supportive. A special thank you to Christian, Helga, and Jasleen — they are incredibly helpful, kind, and genuinely passionate about what they do.
