📚✨ BOOK WEEK AT CHIPMUNKS! ✨📚

What a wonderful Book Week we had! Our centre was filled with some very special little characters as the children brought their favourite books and stories to life. 💛

From superheroes and storybook favourites to some very familiar faces from The Wiggles, Winnie the Pooh and more, the children loved showing off their costumes and sharing in the excitement with their friends.

Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate stories, imagination and a love of reading, while giving children the chance to express their interests and creativity. 📖🌟

A huge thank you to all of our families for getting involved and helping make the week so much fun. We absolutely loved seeing everyone dressed up!

🎒 Supporting Positive Transitions to School 📚

Transitioning to school is such an exciting milestone, and we believe that helping children become familiar with their future school environment can make this big change feel a little less daunting and a lot more exciting! 💚

Our Preschoolers recently had the opportunity to visit a local primary school, where they explored the library, discovered new books, engaged with resources and became familiar with a school environment.

Experiences like these support children to build confidence, independence and a sense of belonging as they prepare for their next big adventure. 🌱

By providing opportunities to experience school environments firsthand, we can encourage children to ask questions, explore their curiosity and begin developing positive connections with what “big school” might look and feel like.

We are so proud to be supporting our Preschoolers as they take these exciting steps towards school! 🥰🎓

What a fantastic week we’ve had celebrating Pyjama Week! 💙

Our centre was filled with cosy pyjamas, warm smiles and plenty of laughter as the children embraced a week of comfort, fun and connection. From engaging learning experiences to shared stories, imaginative play and special moments with friends, it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.

Events like Pyjama Week create a sense of belonging and community, giving children the opportunity to express themselves, build friendships and make lasting memories in a familiar and nurturing environment.

A big thank you to all of our wonderful families for helping make this week so special by joining in the fun. We loved seeing everyone’s creative and cosy pyjama choices! 🌙✨

🌿 This Week in Our Learning Spaces 🌿

What a wonderful week of hands-on exploration and sensory discovery! Our children immersed themselves in a variety of tactile experiences, from scooping and transporting oats with construction vehicles to exploring colourful sensory dough and investigating the unique texture of gel. These open-ended experiences encouraged curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving as children experimented, explored, and made their own discoveries.

Through collaborative play, the children also strengthened their communication, social skills, and confidence as they worked alongside their peers, shared resources, and exchanged ideas. At Chipmunks in the Park, we love creating meaningful, play-based experiences that inspire children to learn through exploration, imagination, and connection every day. 💛🧸

🌱✏️ Early Literacy in Action at Chipmunks in the Park! ✏️🌱

At Chipmunks in the Park, our children have been engaging in a range of meaningful early literacy experiences designed to build confidence, creativity, and a love of learning. Through drawing, mark making, name-writing activities, and letter exploration, the children are developing important pre-writing skills while expressing their own ideas and creativity.

These experiences support fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and early language skills. It has been wonderful to see the children demonstrating persistence, independence, and pride in their work as they practise forming marks, recognising letters, and beginning to understand that writing is a powerful way to communicate. 💚📚✏️

At Chipmunks in the Park, every mark, scribble, and handprint tells a story! Our children have been busy exploring a variety of creative experiences, using paint, pencils, and different art materials to express themselves in their own unique ways.

🖌️ Through painting, children develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and confidence as they experiment with colours, textures, and techniques.

✏️ Drawing and mark-making encourage early literacy skills, concentration, and self-expression, while helping little hands build the strength needed for future writing.

🌈 Most importantly, art gives children the freedom to explore, imagine, create, and celebrate their individuality.

We love seeing our young learners proudly showcasing their masterpieces and embracing the joy of creativity every day!
