Whooping cough is very infectious. It is spread easily in the air as droplets, usually through coughing or sneezing. Whooping cough caught at school or childcare can be spread to family members at home and for up to 3 weeks.
Whooping cough vaccination provides the best protection against becoming sick. Ensure your child is up to date with their vaccinations.
If you have a child with whooping cough, you can help reduce the risk of it spreading by:
• letting your school or childcare centre know
• seeing their doctor early as medication makes a person less infectious
• keeping your child at home and away from babies and pregnant women
• practising good hygiene
• disinfecting toys and objects.

Share this with other parents and carers to help stop the spread.

Last week Kids @ Kindy celebrated International nurses day a day to acknowledge the compassion, professionalism, and round-the-clock commitment of nurses caring for patients in the public health system.
We would like to take this time to thank all the families and community members who reached out and supported our International Nurses day hamper.
All three hampers were filled with beautiful items and welcomed by the nurses at Sutherland Hospital with open arms.
Thank you for all your support

During the week of 21st March, Kids @ Kindy celebrated Harmony Day. Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values. With this, our knowledgeable educators embedded meaningful experiences across all curriculum areas, allowing the children to gain an understanding of diversity and cultural awareness within Australia.
