Hatch’n’Grow at Ku-ring-gai Kindy!

What an exciting few weeks we’ve had watching our ducklings hatch and grow! The children carefully observed the eggs each day, made predictions about which egg might hatch first and even gave each egg its own number.

Once the ducklings started hatching, there was so much excitement! The children were able to watch the whole process up close and learn about how ducklings grow, change and develop.

There were lots of questions, discussions, gentle hands and plenty of very excited faces along the way.

A huge thank you to Hatch’n’Grow for giving our children such a special hands-on learning experience. We’ve loved watching the children’s curiosity grow alongside our little ducklings!

GONE WITH THE WIND 🌬️

We made the most of the windy weather today!
Miss Hannah showed the children how to make simple kites using wooden sticks and newspaper. They were so keen to give it a go and quickly got into running up and down the yard, trying to get their kites flying.
Lots of laughter, a bit of chaos, and plenty of “look at mine!” as they watched them catch the wind and take off.

What an exciting day in our outdoor space as we celebrate the Socceroos! The children have been so excited exploring a soccer-inspired setup filled with movement, imagination, and teamwork!

Our yard was transformed with green and gold touches, including soccer nets, cones and stepping stones for kicking, aiming, balancing and coordination. The tuff tray was a favourite, where the children used little people as a soccer team, creating their own games and matches, while the sandpit added a fun sensory element to the experience.

It has been wonderful to see the children engaged, working together and proudly celebrating in their green and gold. This experience supported their physical, social and imaginative development through play.

This week we’re recognising National Reconciliation Week 🖤💛❤️

It’s a time to slow down, reflect, and think about how we can all play a part in reconciliation as a community.

At kindy, the children will be exploring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through simple, meaningful experiences, stories and conversations. These moments help build respect, understanding and a sense of connection to each other and to Country.

Reconciliation is something we are always learning about, and we feel really grateful to be on this journey together with our families and children.

Keep an eye out for some posts throughout the week showing what the children are learning and engaging in.
