Last weekend, we came together to run for a good cause! The team and families of Ku-Ring-Gai Kindy supported the cause by running or walking laps around the oval at Turramurra Public School while raising funds for Lautoka School for Special Education in Fiji.

Our run was celebrated with a well-deserved sausage sizzle and ice block at Kindy!

To date, we have raised $550. We take great joy in giving back to the Fijian community of Lautoka. With our donations, we can provide essential resources and opportunities for the students there, truly making a difference in their education and lives.

In addition to the funds raised, this event enhanced the already strong connections within our local community, it was great to see our past families join in the fun. Thank you to everyone involved for ensuring this event was a success! A special thanks to Turramurra Public School for providing access to their oval.

We look forward to continue supporting Lautoka School for Special Education.

Recently, the Blue Tongue Lizard children went on an excursion to a local park!

Before leaving Kindy, as a group, we discussed how to be safe whilst we walked to the park, and at the park. The Blue Tongue Lizards then put on their fluoro vests, buddied up with a partner and made their way to the park. Once we arrived at the park, the children ate their morning tea before getting ready to explore!

After morning tea, they were offered the opportunity to either play tennis on the courts, play on the equipment, go on the swings, play basketball or get creative with chalk. All of the children were so actively engaged in an activity or game, demonstrating turn-taking skills on the swings, teamwork skills with the basketball, and cooperative play with tennis rackets and balls.

We love getting active and exploring our community!

Check out what our Geckos have been up to!

It’s been Olympic fever in the Gecko room this week. Every morning, they work on their numeracy skills by updating the previous day's medal tally for the countries that are represented in the Gecko room. Australia and China are leading the way with impressive performances!

They were tasked with constructing an Eiffel Tower using sticks and playdough, creating impressive replicas, much like the one in Paris. They have loved cutting out pictures of their favourite Olympians, displaying them on the wall alongside the Olympic rings crafted by the geckos.

Miss Tameeka brought in the Olympic torch which was carried from Foster to Tuncurry during the 2000 Olympics, each of our Geckos was filled with joy when they had a turn at holding the torch.

We can’t wait to see what the next week of the Olympics has in store for our Geckos!

Happy Diwali! 🎆✨️We celebrated Diwali last week at Kindy with colour, lights and decorations. Our wonderful teachers and families helped create a rangoli and the children made diya by using clay. With loose parts we replicated our own rangoli patterns. 🎇
