Introducing the Holy Cross Wellbeing Wagon
Created to support student wellbeing and belonging during break times, the Wellbeing Wagon provides a welcoming space where students can enjoy creative, calming and social activities at recess and lunch.
Stocked with games, construction toys, puppets, chalk, skipping ropes, explorer kits and more, the wagon offers meaningful play opportunities for all students. Our Year 6 volunteers also play a key role, supporting younger students and modelling positive social interactions.
Since its introduction, we've seen increased engagement in play, stronger peer connections, greater confidence and inclusion, and valuable leadership growth among our senior students.
The Wellbeing Wagon is creating meaningful opportunities for students to connect, play, and feel a strong sense of belonging.

Online safety is an important part of children’s wellbeing The eSafety Commissioner highlights that children may sometimes be encouraged to share personal information or images online.
Families can help by:
• Talking regularly about online activities
• Using parental controls and learning about apps together
• Watching for changes in behaviour
• Reassuring children they can ask for help
📘 Families can also access the free resource “Let’s talk about being safe online”.
🎥 Upcoming webinars include sessions on AI and managing screen time for younger children.

Our Secondary Religious Education teachers and Catechesis Learning Partners recently collaborated on the Year 8 Diocesan Common Assessment (DCA) pilot marking process, strengthening our shared commitment to student growth and excellence.
Through the marking of student samples, rich feedback was provided to teachers, supporting reflective practice and targeted improvement. The DCA plays a vital role in monitoring student progress, identifying areas for development, and generating meaningful data and evidence to inform teaching in Religious Education.
Aligned with the Catholic Schools Broken Bay Curriculum, Assessment & Pedagogy Framework for Years 3–10, this collaborative process empowers educators to refine their practice and enhance learning outcomes for all students.
