As we reflect on Refugee Week, we are reminded that Blacktown City has long been a place where families from all walks of life have come to build a future and contribute to the vibrant community we know today.
Through meaningful experiences with Mt Druitt Ethnic Communities Agency, our children learned that every person brings their own story, strengths and experiences. By listening, learning and celebrating one another, we help foster a stronger sense of belonging for everyone.

Rainy days don't stop the fun at Family Day Care! ☔🎶
One of our Family Day Care educators has creatively upcycled everyday materials to for our children to create musical instruments so they can explore and dance along to. Even with wet weather, unique learning experiences can still take place to keep little arms and legs moving!

The Values Award is an initiative by Blacktown City Council that recognises employees who embody Council's values and make a positive difference in the lives of others. Congratulations to this month's head office recipients, Neha Saini, Mel Pfieke (twice!) and Vicki Robertson, whose nomination was selected as the Values Award highlight of the month. 💜
Vicki was recognised for going above and beyond to support a family in urgent need, working after hours to ensure care was in place. At the same time, she coordinated care for multiple families impacted by a centre closure, helping to reduce stress and provide reassurance during a challenging period. Well done!
