School Holiday Program.

That's a wrap on our School Holiday Program for July!

Our School Holiday Program was a massive hit! With exciting themed days, children enjoyed plenty of learning, fun and discovery. It was a great way to shake up our learning programs, and offer some new and exciting experiences across all our rooms.

The School Holiday Program is something we will definitely implement again next school holidays due to the children's enjoyment and interest.

🚀🌟 School Holiday Fun – Space Day in Toddler 2! 🌟🚀

Today our Toddler 2 children blasted off on an exciting Space Day adventure as part of our School Holiday Program! 🪐✨

Our little explorers used their imaginations to discover the wonders of space through hands-on play, creative experiences, and sensory exploration. From learning about planets and stars to pretending to be astronauts on a mission, the children were engaged, curious, and full of excitement throughout the day.

These experiences encouraged creativity, problem-solving, language development, and imaginative play while inspiring a love of learning about the world beyond our own.

What an out-of-this-world day we had! 🌎💫 We can’t wait to see what tomorrow’s holiday adventure brings!

School Holiday Program - Recycling Day ♻️

Today our Toddler's learnt how small actions can make a big difference on Recycling Day! They explored sustainability through art, discussions and learning experiences which explored reducing waste, reusing materials, and caring for our environment for future generations.

🐾 School Holiday Program – Animal Day! 🐾

Our Preschool children had a wonderful time celebrating Animal Day as part of our School Holiday Program! 🐄🐑🐓

Today’s hands-on learning experience involved a fun “feeding the animals” sensory activity using oats. The children carefully scooped, poured and fed a variety of toy farm animals, strengthening their fine motor skills while engaging in imaginative play.

Through this experience, the children explored caring for animals, developed their hand-eye coordination, and enjoyed meaningful conversations about the different animals, what they eat, and how we can look after them.

It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, creativity, and curiosity throughout the activity. What a fun way to learn through play! 🐾🌾💚

🌿 NAIDOC Week – Day 5 🌿

We end our NAIDOC Week exploration through highlighting some of the learning experiences which were created in our Senior Room today.

Our NAIDOC Week activities have helped the children to develop respect for Aboriginal cultures, whilst promoting inclusion, empathy and cultural awareness. They support children's sense of belonging, encourage curiousity, and align with the Early Years Learning Framework by fostering identity, community, and respectful relationships.

🌿 NAIDOC Week – Day 4 🌿

Today our Kindergarten children explored Aboriginal patterns through a creative playdough experience.

Using Aboriginal-inspired pattern playdough mats, the children carefully rolled, shaped and arranged playdough to recreate a variety of traditional patterns. This hands-on activity encouraged fine motor development, creativity and problem-solving while providing an opportunity to appreciate the significance of patterns in Aboriginal art and storytelling.

Throughout the experience, we engaged in meaningful conversations about Australia’s rich Aboriginal cultures, celebrating the knowledge, creativity and traditions that have been shared for tens of thousands of years.

We are proud to continue celebrating NAIDOC Week by creating opportunities for children to learn, explore and develop a deeper respect for the world’s oldest continuing culture.

🌿 NAIDOC Week – Day 3 🌿

Today, our toddlers continued their NAIDOC Week journey by exploring Aboriginal symbols and learning about the important ways stories and knowledge have been shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples for generations.

Together, we enjoyed the beautiful story Babies at the Billabong, which sparked conversations about Australian wildlife, nature, and the special connection to Country. Inspired by the story, the children explored a variety of Aboriginal symbols through creative experiences, developing an appreciation for the rich culture, traditions, and storytelling of Australia’s First Nations Peoples.

Through meaningful play, stories, and art, we are encouraging curiosity, respect, and an understanding of the diverse cultures that make Australia so special.

🌿❤️ NAIDOC Week Celebrations Have Begun! ❤️🌿

Today we kicked off our NAIDOC Week celebrations with a meaningful cultural experience in our Preschool room. Our children carefully weaved string around sticks to create their own clapping sticks, developing their fine motor skills while learning about the significance of traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musical instruments.

Through experiences like these, we encourage children to explore, respect and celebrate the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We look forward to sharing more of our NAIDOC Week learning and celebrations throughout the week!
