Connection to Community π€
This week has been an exciting week here at Papilio Schofields, where the children have had so many different opportunities to connect to community. From visits from the fire fighters, engagement in National Simultaneous Story Time, to planned Reconciliation Week experiences, there has been so much joy, learning and discovery across our Centre.

π What an exciting day at the centre today!
Our children had a wonderful time welcoming some very special visitors from the fire brigade. They explored the fire truck, learned about fire safety, and had the opportunity to ask lots of curious questions.
The firefighters shared important safety tips with the children and made learning such a fun and engaging experience. A big thank you to our local firefighters for taking the time to visit us today and for all the amazing work they do in our community β€οΈπ₯

Today we joined children and educators across Australia in celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime! πβ¨
This yearβs beautiful story, Luna Roo, brought so much joy, laughter and imagination to our learning environments. The children loved coming together to listen, engage in discussions and extend their learning through story-inspired experiences. π¦π«
National Simultaneous Storytime is a wonderful opportunity to foster a love of reading, language and connection through storytelling. Thank you to our educators for creating such meaningful learning moments for the children today. π

Day 3 of Reconciliation Week πΏπ€πβ€οΈ
Today our Kindy children used their imagination and creativity to create their very own Dreamtime stories, sharing ideas through storytelling, drawing and discussion. It was wonderful to see the children express their understanding of culture, connection and storytelling in such meaningful ways.
Our Toddler 2 children explored patterns through a variety of hands-on experiences, discovering different shapes, colours and repeated designs inspired by Aboriginal art and symbols.
We are so proud of the children for engaging so thoughtfully in our Reconciliation Week learning experiences and celebrating the importance of culture, respect and connection together. β¨

Reconciliation Week - Day 2
Today the children were again provided with engaging and meaningful experiences that allowed them to celebrate Aboriginal culture, history and connection to country π€β€οΈπ. Through music & movement, stories & art, exploring native animals and engaging with natural resources, the children continued to develop an appreciation for the rich culture and traditions of First Nations peoples. These experiences encourage respect, curiousity, and understanding as we learn together about the important of reconciliation.

Reconciliation Week Day One!
This morning our Preschool children explored Aboriginal symbols as part of our Day 1 activities for National Reconciliation Week. π€π€β€οΈπ
Through tracing and discussing the meaning behind different symbols, the children were encouraged to learn about and appreciate Aboriginal culture, storytelling and connection to Country. Experiences like these help foster respect, understanding and meaningful conversations from an early age.
We look forward to continuing our Reconciliation Week learning journey together throughout the week. πΏ
