We’re so excited to welcome Jasmine to the Mt Riverview team! ✨

Jasmine will be stepping into the Centre Manager role while Hayley is on maternity leave. She brings years of experience across a range of positions in early childhood education, including Educator, 2IC and Centre Manager.

Jasmine is already so excited to be part of our community and can’t wait to get to know all of our wonderful children, families and educators.

Be sure to say hello and help us give Jasmine a warm Mt Riverview welcome! 🤎🌞

Today the Senior Toddlers took on the important role of face painters… and their educators bravely volunteered as the canvas! 🎨😂

With paintbrushes in hand, the children transformed their educators into colourful masterpieces while exploring creativity, self-expression, and having lots of laughs along the way. Safe to say the children were very proud of their work! ✨

🚗✨ Our little car enthusiasts have been busy exploring a bumpy sensory car track! Using chalk, oats, and kitchen materials, the children created roads full of different textures to drive their cars through. This fun experience supported sensory exploration, imaginative play, creativity, and turn-taking with friends. 💨🌾

This week, all of our rooms have been embracing Reconciliation Week through meaningful discussions and experiences ✨

Today, the Junior Toddler children came together for an Acknowledgement of Country, led by Nicky. Sitting in a circle, the children proudly joined in, showing respect for the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and play 🖤💛❤️

📚✨ National Simultaneous Storytime ✨📚

Today the children joined in on National Simultaneous Storytime as we read “Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller” together 🦘💫 The children listened with so much excitement and engagement, responding to the story’s characters, rhythm, and beautiful illustrations along the way.

Our Nursery Room also extended on the story through a themed sensory tray, encouraging the children to explore textures, colours, and storytelling in a hands-on and engaging way 🌿✨

Tiny scientists at work 🧪🌈✨

After documenting the children’s voices and ideas for future experiments, one exciting suggestion was a marble milk experiment! Together we explored milk, food colouring, dish soap and cotton tips, making predictions about what might happen before watching the colours swirl and dance across the tray… wow! 😍

This hands-on experience encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, prediction skills, and an understanding of cause and effect through fun, play-based learning 🌞

Today we explored how our lungs work through a fun little hands-on science experience 🌬️🫁✨

Inspired by the children’s growing interest in our bodies and organs, we created our very own “lungs” using paper bags and straws. As the children sucked and blew through the straws, they watched their lungs expand and contract just like the real thing!

This playful experience encouraged curiosity, imagination, problem solving, and conversations about how our amazing bodies work 🥰

Our little bug rescuers were hard at work today 🐞🪵🫧

The children explored muddy sensory play as they searched for and rescued bugs using their hands and different tools. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and lots of messy fun, the children showed such care and determination while collecting and cleaning their bugs ✨🌿🤎
