Day 5 - cert 2

SUSPENSION - a series of pivots, levers, sliders, and parts of the bicycle that allow you to maintain a relatively steady horizontal line on unsteady terrain.

To ensure you are getting the best out of your suspension please ensure the lower legs and air cans are serviced at every 50hrs of riding time.

With more torque, comes more responsibility.

E-bicycles (emtb) are much harder on drivetrains, and if you let your chain become to worn it will destroy your casssette followed closely by the chainring.

Chain wear checkers are your friend 🙌

✅ Ensure the derailleur hanger is aligned before tuning gears
✅ Remove the cable tension to ensure the rear derailleur is being supported by its H (high) limit screw





✅ B (body) screw needs to be adjusted while you are in gear 1 (lowest)
✅ On a traditional derailleur we are looking for a gap of 6-8mm between the closest teeth on the guide (upper) pulley and the largest cog (gear 1)
⚠️ Please note the above is for 10spd or less, if you have 11spd or 12spd system please check with the manufacturer to ensure you get the correct setting on the B adjustment

Today’s tip ✅

Toque the thru axle as per manufacturing spec, then using a paint pen or similar mark the axle and frame/fork to help get the correct toque on the fly in the future 🙌

This will ensure you are not damaging the threads by constantly over tightening or having the axle come loose mid ride 😇

Some derailleur hangers are very fragile…… not pointing any fingers at you SCOTT 🤣
