Two Distinct Operational Pathways

TacMed Training RTO 41552 and Emergency Australia RTO 41448 have joined forces to deliver the Diploma of Emergency Health Care like no other.

Instead of a standard emergency care program, this qualification is delivered through two distinct operational streams, allowing students to have training contextualised for the environments they aim to work in.

REACT Medic

Remote Emergency Austere Complex Tactical
Delivered by TacMed Training (RTO 41552)
Designed for individuals operating in environments such as:
• Tactical teams
• Law enforcement
• Defence and military contexts
• Protective services
• Security operations
• High-risk industry environments

Training focuses on structured operational response, clinical decision-making under pressure, and emergency care in complex tactical environments.

ROEM Medic
Remote Outdoor & Expedition Medicine

Delivered by Emergency Australia (RTO 41448)

Designed for individuals operating in environments such as:
• Remote and regional operations
• Outdoor education and expedition leadership
• Environmental and conservation work
• Remote industry environments
• Field-based humanitarian operations

Training focuses on emergency healthcare in wilderness and remote environments, where geography, terrain and evacuation challenges shape clinical care.

The Qualification
Both pathways deliver the nationally recognised:

HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care
Training includes:
• Scenario-based simulations
• Remote and austere care
• Major incident management
• Clinical placement (160 hours)

Students will have an increased networking opportunity during the practical blocks, to
train alongside the ROEM and REACT Medics whilst taking advantage of our joint strategic placement opportunities, both on a domestic and international level.

Disaster Relief Australia at Launceston RSL

Seven DRA students joined Emergency Australia trainer Mick last Saturday for First Aid and CPR Training.

Everyone had a great day, well supported by the RSL team.

DRA are now looking forward to even more upskilling on the Remote Area First Aid Training in March staying at the Tasmanian Veterans Association Retreat.

4 Days Remote Area Preparedness Training for WIRES
has completed 4 days of Remote Area Preparedness Training for WIRES This training immersed Wildlife Emergency Responders in skill sets essential for their safety and mission success. Students gained the skills, confidence and nationally recognised units of competency in HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in remote or isolated site, FWPCOT3325 Operate four wheel drive vehicle on unsealed roads and FWPCOT3326 Recover four wheel drive vehicle. Thank you to the incredible team at WIRES and for the impact you make each day.
