As the cooler, darker months arrive, I find myself returning to the small rituals that make life feel softer, slower, and a little more magical.
Stocking up on candles so every corner glows warmly by late afternoon. Brewing endless cups of rooibos, chamomile, spiced apple, chai, and oolong tea. Wrapping myself in warm blankets with a stack of cosy books and playlists that feel like home.
Autumn and winter always invite me inward — toward solitude, reflection, rest, and gentler rhythms. Less rushing. More noticing. More listening. More being.
This season, I’m preparing not just my home for the cold… but my heart too. 🍂🕯️☕
How are you preparing for the darker months?

What a man!!!
He's not kidding when he says, "If we save the sea, we save our world".
Y'all need to add his book Ocean to your must read list!!
Now, while I dont particularly like swimming in the ocean, I have always had a special connection to it. This book just confirmed for me what I already believed! 🌊

Nyepi is a sacred Balinese celebration known as the Day of Silence.
For 24 hours, the entire island pauses.
No lights.
No travel.
No noise.
The streets empty, homes dim, and the constant hum of “doing” comes to a complete stop - all so that the earth, Ibu Pertiwi, can breathe, reset, and restore in the dark.
There’s something so deeply nurturing about that.
And lately, I’ve been wondering… what if we let ourselves have a Nyepi moment as the colder months arrive?
Not in a grand or perfect way, but in small, gentle rituals of release.
Letting the busyness dim.
Letting the noise soften.
Letting go of what we don’t need to carry into this next season.
Autumn has already shown us how - through the trees releasing their leaves knowing that a season of renewal will follow.
A soft question to sit with:
What am I ready to release, so I can feel more held, more steady, more at home within myself, ready for renewal?

Let it be compost 🍂
Autumn doesn’t rush to hold on—it softens, releases, lets things fall.
What if the things you’re carrying right now don’t need fixing or forcing… just returning?
Old stories, heavy thoughts, the pressure to keep everything together.
Let it be compost.
Let it break down, gently, in its own time.
Because what nourishes next season is often what we’re brave enough to lay down in this one.
This is your permission slip to release.
To trust the quiet work happening beneath the surface.
What are you ready to let become soil?

There’s something about autumn that calls for softer stories… the kind you can curl up with as the light fades a little earlier and the air turns crisp 🍂
Here are a few of my favourite cosy reads to keep you company this season:
🍂 Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood
A warm hug of a story about rediscovering who you are when life feels like it’s quietly unraveling. A gentle, magical reminder that it’s never too late to find your way back to yourself.
📚 My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan
Set against the dreamy backdrop of Oxford’s cobblestone streets, this is a story of unexpected love, sharp wit, and the bittersweet beauty of fleeting moments. Tender and a little bit heart-aching in the best way - perfect for when you want something that wraps around you and lingers long after the last page.
✨ A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna
A delightfully whimsical tale filled with found family, second chances, and a slightly chaotic magical inn. When everything falls apart, sometimes the most unexpected places become home. Cosy, quirky, and quietly healing.
🏡 The Cosy Cottage in Ireland by Julie Caplin
Escape to the rolling green hills of Ireland, where a charming cottage, good food, and new connections offer a fresh start. Pure comfort, fresh starts, and a touch of romance.
☕ Hot Chocolate on Thursday by Michiko Aoyama
A collection of interconnected stories that all circle back to a quiet little café in Tokyo. Each chapter feels like a small, thoughtful moment - full of humanity, reflection, and connection.
Each one feels like a little exhale… an invitation to slow down, soften, and savour.
Which one would you reach for first? Or tell me - what’s on your autumn reading list? Always love and appreciate a good book recommendation!!🍂📖

🍂3 Ways to Ground in Autumn 🍂
Grounding works by calming your nervous system, shifting you out of “fight or flight” and into a more regulated state known as the parasympathetic nervous system.
Here are three gentle, seasonal ways to ground yourself in autumn - simple, sensory, and a little bit magic (and I do them all myself, so I speak from personal experience):
1. Walk with the season (and your senses) - Step outside and really arrive where you are. Notice the crunch of leaves, the coolness in the air, the golden light. Let your breath slow to match your steps. Even 5 minutes of mindful walking can anchor you back into your body.
2. Create a daily warmth ritual -
Autumn invites us inward. Light a candle, wrap your hands around a warm cup of tea, and pause - no phone, no rushing. Let this become a small, steady moment in your day that signals safety and stillness to your nervous system.
3. Ground through the body -
Think slow, earthy movement - yin yoga (the actual best!!), stretching, or even sitting on the floor with your feet flat on the ground. Practices that bring awareness to your legs and feet help you feel supported and connected.
Try one or all of these this week and tell me how you feel!!!

There’s something quietly magical about this season… 🍂
Leaves fall, colours soften, the world lets go in the most beautiful way - and yet, beneath it all, something remains steady. The roots. The ground. The quiet knowing that not everything is meant to be held onto.
Autumn feels like a permission slip… to slow down, to soften your grip, to release what you’ve been carrying a little too tightly.
Like this tiny hidden doorway beneath the tree, there’s a sense that something is still holding you, even as everything around you changes. A gentle kind of magic.
So I wonder - what are you ready to lay down?
What can fall away, just like the leaves, without force… without rush?
Maybe in the letting go, you’ll find what’s been steady all along 🤍

A little ritual I’ve been leaning into lately… a Candle Pause 🕯️
As the days grow shorter and the air turns cooler, I find myself craving small moments of warmth and stillness.
Lighting a candle has become my quiet signal to slow down - even if just for a minute.
A breath.
A reset.
A soft return to myself.
You don’t need much - just a flame, a pause, and permission to be where you are.
And if you know me, you know how much I LOVE candles… especially in autumn. There’s something about that gentle glow that makes everything feel a little more grounded, a little more held.
Maybe today, you light one too 🤍
