Today marks a huge milestone as our little ones step out of pre-school and into a world full of new adventures! 🌟 It’s been a year of laughter, learning, and growing, and now they’re ready for the next big chapter. From finger-painting to counting to ten, they’ve built a strong foundation for all the exciting things ahead.

Congrats to our preschool graduates – we’re so proud of each and every one of you! Keep shining bright, little stars! ✨🎉

Happy Feet Fitness has evolved the concept of play-based learning. Through the countless scores of kids they’ve enjoyed working wit. They’ve managed to find the perfect blend of educational content, creativity, health and the development of social skills. Each of their song and dance activities encourages participation, expression and social interaction. They have a variety of classes that keep the whole experience of dancing for kids fresh and exciting. Each class has clearly defined goals that the children will dance their way to, and be able to apply outside the four walls of the classroom in everyday life.

Dance is a great form of exercise for kids, which has been made apparent in recent times through fitness classes like Zumba. However, it is also fun so the arduous part of exercise flies by relatively unnoticed. This is just one of dance’s benefits for kids. Kids dancing and dance classes also carry the following benefits:

• An improvement in confidence and self-esteem
• Helps improve the mental, emotional and cognitive maturation of children
• Dance involves a wide range of movement and improves physical development and gross motor skills
• An improvement in listening skills and music responsiveness
• Enhances social awareness through interaction and cooperation
• Providing an outlet for your child’s creative expression

Today at learn and play we celebrated our Father’s Day afternoon tea. Parents were invited to join in with their children for this event. The children spent the week creating their Father’s Day gifts and preparing for this event. We had several activities set up at the tables such as “ button threading, hand painting, puzzle collage and people makers with wooden spoons”. The children were super excited to have their parents and grandparents celebrate this special event with us.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY :)

This week the children have started to focus on healthy eating as they have shown interest in talking about healthy eating during morning tea break and afternoon tea break.

The children started off their morning by watching a video called “ healthy eating “. The video helped the children find knowledge on healthy eating and what it is all about. Once the video had ended the children and Ms Soha created a brain storm collage and discussed what healthy eating and non healthy eating meant to them.

They also participated in an art and craft activity where we created a category list based on “ healthy vs unhealthy eating “. Ms Soha drew up line in the middle of the children papers and encouraged them to use the glue sticks and place glue on their paper before sticking down the cut out pieces of papers. In the pieces of papers we had assorted images of different types of food categorised for healthy and unhealthy foods.

Today a handful of cockatoos went on a excursion with their educators Ms Soha, Ms Danielle and Ms Fatima. The children were invited by another childcare centre located in the community called “ Albyn Cottage” to attend their event called “ bike day”, the children were asked to bring in either their bike or scooter alongside their helmets to have a ride around with the other children from that centre. The cockatoos brang in their bikes, Ms Danielle and Ms Kamli loaded up the Ute with all the bikes, scooters and helmets as they drop them Upto the destination. Ms Soha and Ms Fatima put sunscreen on the children alongside theirs hats as they walked to the front gate. For us to be able to walk to our destination safety the children help on the edge of the red rope that had been held on each end by an educator. Once we were ready we left the centre and walked all the way up harrow road , crossed at the crossing and continued to walk to the destination where Ms Danielle was waiting for us with our bikes and scooters. We sat down for a quick water break and that’s when Ms Eget ( director from other centre) introduced herself to the children alongside the children from that service. Ms Eget had set up a circuit for the children and a guide to drive in between the lines and around it . The children were super excited as they were ready to go.

Our time on the bikes and scooters had come to an end, Ms Eget then invited us into her centre where the children joined in for some group time. During group time the children sang along to some of the songs we sing on a daily basis such as “ days of the week” and many more. A group of children from Albyn Cottage put on a dancing show for us, we were super impressed with a group of girls who sang and danced to us the song barbie in Portuguese language !! HOW COOOOL!!

We then washed our hands and sat on the mats where we had lunch. For lunch we had cheese, Vegemite and jam sandwiches. After such a tiring and fun day the children then said goodbye to Ms Eget and the children as they walked back to the centre and were ready to have a nap !!

Today at Learn and Play we participated in the teddy bear picnic that is run every year on the 10th of July. Teddy Bear Picnic Day is a fun day that encourages creativity among children by taking them out for a whimsical picnic in the outdoors with their teddy bears.

Children were encouraged to bring in a teddy bear or soft toy to join in with us during our afternoon tea picnic.

3:00pm the children and educators all gathered outside the front of the yard in a large circle where they sat their soft toys either on their laps, high chairs or beside them whilst they had their afternoon tea and open discussions with one another. For our afternoon tea we had fresh cut up slices of apple and pears , crackers and cheese and a special treat which was yummy FAIRY BREAD!!

Teddy bears can help children learn how to interact with others in a healthy way. Children who play with teddy bears develop social skills like empathy, sharing, cooperation, and responsibility over time and these skills will help them throughout their lives.
