First session of AWS AI Practitioner Prep completed for the term. In 1 hour, the student has learned the below.
🤖 Artificial Intelligence (AI) enables computers to perform human-like tasks such as image recognition, speech processing, translation, and content generation.
📊 AI models learn from training data to identify patterns and make predictions or classifications.
🧠 The AI hierarchy is AI → Machine Learning (ML) → Deep Learning (DL) → Generative AI.
☁️ Cloud computing provides on-demand IT resources (compute, storage, databases) with pay-as-you-go pricing.
⚙️ Key cloud characteristics: self-service, network access, resource sharing, scalability, and usage-based billing.
💰 Key benefits: lower costs, flexibility, scalability, agility, and high availability.
🏢 Cloud deployment models: Private Cloud, Public Cloud, and Hybrid Cloud.
🛠️ Cloud service models: IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
💳 AWS pricing is based on compute usage, storage consumed, and data transferred out (data transferred in is generally free).
🌍 AWS infrastructure consists of Regions (geographic locations) and Availability Zones (separate data centres for resilience and fault tolerance).
