Thank a First Responder day. đźš’đźš”
With all the extended interest in the Caterpillars room we thought rather then thanking them in the centre this year like we have done in previous years handing our family first responders a personal treat, we thought what better then visiting their place of work to say Thank you to all those in the community teams.
So we headed out on a little trip with a small group of Caterpillars and Butterflies, making it a little more personal.
Some of the Caterpillars helped paint the Firefighters a poster and then some older Butterflies helped to create written Thank you boards we could hand over with the yummy treat baskets and bags that our families donated. They had lots of inquisitive questions for both the Police and Firefighters and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

Let’s say Thank you to our Hero’s.

Every year on Thank a First Responder Day, Australians are encouraged to pause and say thank you to the people who respond when emergencies occur. This year it’s held on 10 June 2026, the day was established to recognise the professional and volunteer first responders who work tirelessly to keep us safe.

Who Is a First Responder?
When people hear the term “first responder”, they often think immediately of paramedics, police officers, firefighters, or rescue crews. Who we all love.

A first responder is simply the first person who arrives at an emergency and begins providing assistance. In many situations, that person is not wearing a uniform.

It may be a teacher/ coach responding to a child’s injury. It could be a workplace first aider assisting a colleague who has collapsed. It might be a parent helping a child who is choking, or a bystander commencing CPR while waiting for an ambulance.
Everyone helps everyone. đź’•
We would also love to say thank you to the amazing team of families (from NSW Fire) that have helped this fire interest grow and allow the children to take so much away from it.

Regentville Rescue Team today went above and beyond, much appreciated.

Did you know a cognitive assessment does not have to be about a diagnosis?

For many families, it is simply about understanding how their child learns best.

Every child has a unique cognitive profile. Some children are strong visual learners. Others retain information better through listening, movement or repetition. A cognitive assessment maps all of this out clearly, so you and their teachers are working with the same picture.

It can help with:
âś” Understanding your child's individual learning style
âś” Informing school learning support plans
âś” Identifying areas of strength alongside areas for support
âś” Giving teachers practical strategies that actually fit your child

You do not need a referral and you do not need to have a big concern.

If you have questions about whether a cognitive assessment is right for your family, reach out. We are happy to talk it through before you take the next steps.

Another trip out and about to the local Fire Museum in Penrith, filled with enthusiasm from the moment the 10 Caterpillars boarded the bus ready to head off.
They sang, laughed and asked loads of questions and were curious about the river as we drove alongside it. When arriving the firetruck and firefighters we out training and this had them excited to see what was happening.
Our busy little Caterpillars got hands on exploring the firetruck, learning and looking at the old ones that carried the hoses, this then became the thing as they began looking for those hoses, before we then seen the horses that were used for and their curious minds started to explore other things as head turned one way then the other.
Getting ready to let them go and explore being the driver, ringing the bell, feeling like they were really driving the firetruck. This had them go from one truck to another and their little faces say it all.
But another shout out and big thank you to the firefighters training for taking the time to allow them to navigate the hose on and off shooting water into the air.

Today we ventured out to the local Fire Museum in Penrith extending on the interest of fire and also fire trucks. 10 little Caterpillars explored so many things either getting hands on with the little fire trucks, looking at the equipment before visiting and climbing inside the play fire trucks, pretending they were driving and Racing to the fire. “Carter saying the preschool is on fire quick quick drive fast”, all whilst turning the wheel, before handing it over to Banjo and Remy for a drive.
Exploring the window that displayed a burnt down bedroom with a little story being told, the Caterpillars reflected on this and then Archie said “it looked like my lounge room, all melted”.
Allowing this learning to grow and not be scary has been the journey and the children are loving it. Can’t wait for what comes next. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🚒

Empowering young minds through their passions, we love that learning has come leaps and bounds in the Caterpillars room, NSW Fire Station Regentville ignited a spark of knowledge and infused invaluable life skills that will stay with them forever. With compassion and patience, they guided our little hero who recently faced a house fire, walking him through the experience with remarkable care. His many educators guided him through this also in a one on one situation to allow his mind to understand cope in his own time.

The enthusiasm was infectious as our Caterpillars overcame apprehensions and took turns exploring the fire truck, reveling in the thrill of spraying water, witnessing flashing lights, and mastering crucial safety techniques like stopping, dropping, and rolling. A vital question about knowing the emergency number 000, which they promptly identified on the truck.
Gratitude for this enriching experience that not only fostered growth but also equipped our children with vital knowledge for real life moments.
Forever grateful.
The Butterflies also got the chance enjoyed the hands on learning with the firefighters.

Rainbow Smoothies - combining an assortment of fruits and incorporating coconut to enhance the smoothie's texture. We appreciate that they are experiencing fruit in different forms.
Have you tried making smoothies at home before. ??
