♻️ I’m excited to announce that Council’s first-ever Repair Fair is coming to the Castle Hill Showground on Saturday, 20 June from 9am to 1pm!
The Repair Fair is a fantastic opportunity to give your household items a second life, with hands-on repair sessions for a wide range of goods. If you’ve got something broken at home, don’t throw it away — bring it along and learn how it can be repaired and reused.
There’ll also be free coffee ☕, a community BBQ 🌭, interactive workshops, live demonstrations, market stalls and plenty more for the whole family to enjoy.
This exciting new event reflects Council’s commitment to reducing waste and supporting a circular economy by encouraging our community to repair, reuse and rethink before sending items to landfill.

Signs of proprioceptive difficulties in a child
👉 frequently bumps into objects, trips
👉 appears clumsy, poor coordination
👉 difficulty grading force (too hard / too soft)
👉 presses, pushes or hits too hard
👉 seeks strong input (jumping, running, crashing)
👉 enjoys “heavy work” (pushing, pulling, carrying)
👉 poor body awareness (doesn’t know where the body is in space)
👉 difficulties with posture and body positioning
👉 leans on hands or slumps when sitting
👉 gets tired quickly during activities
👉 difficulty with fine motor tasks (writing, fastening, drawing)
👉 problems with motor planning
👉 seeks oral input (chewing, biting)

Important:
This is not just “clumsiness” or personality.
It’s how the nervous system processes body input.

ANZAC DAY🌺🐴
I wish you all could have heard the narrative around the sandpit play♥️ A small group of children dug a a giant hole which they correctly termed it a TRENCH. They added a bucket as a toilet with a plate for the lid. When offered the opportunity to add poppies to their role play they eagerly accepted and placed them along the edge of the trench. They later returned for an ANZAC story during group time.

The Easter Market & Grandparents Day this afternoon was so much fun! 🐰 🪺 💖
And what a valuable learning experience for the children as they managed the market handling “real” money 💵 🪙
Thank you to the children and educators for making the market produce. A big thank you to the grandparents who bought the items for a gold coin donation. The money goes back into our community 🪴
