The Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway Anzac Service on Saturday 18 April was a moving tribute to all who serve, and especially to those who served in the Kokoda campaign.

The courage and sacrifice of Australian soldiers, often outnumbered remains one of the defining moments in our military history. Fought in harsh, mountainous jungle conditions, the Kokoda campaign was a vital part of the broader Battle for Australia and in defending our nation from invasion.

Thank you to Sir Peter Cosgrove for delivering the commemorative address and reflecting on the significance of Kokoda.

My NSW parliamentary colleague, Shadow Minister for Veterans Tim James, was also there. This was Tim’s second visit to the Kokoda Track as we continue to advocate for ongoing State Government funding for this unique track.

Thank you to the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway Board, led by Jennifer Collins AM and Secretary Alice Kang OAM, all staff and volunteers for delivering another wonderful and meaningful service.

The petrol crisis has reached our community. Ampol Five Dock ran out of fuel today.

Families, small businesses and tradies are already feeling the impact, and higher fuel prices will push up the cost of everything.

The Iran conflict began weeks ago, yet Australia still has no clear plan. It is unacceptable that the Albanese and Minns Labor Governments are only now just scrambling for a response.

Where is the plan to deal with this?

As we wrap up Lunar New Year celebrations, I was grateful to attend the Rhodes Lunar New Year Festival organised by RMCA on Friday

A big congratulations and thanks to Yiping Zhang, Jing Hong and all the RMCA volunteers for their fantastic work bringing the community together for such a vibrant celebration.

Thank you to our amazing community for celebrating this special occasion, and to the generosity of Australians from Asian backgrounds for welcoming us to share in Lunar New Year traditions and festivities again this year 🙏

Wishing everyone prosperity, happiness and good fortune in the Year of the Horse. 🧧🐎
