The Year 8 HPGE Robotics Program involves 20 highly enthusiastic students who arrive at school an hour early each Wednesday to work with the mBot2 robots. The program aims to develop students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills through block coding and robotics challenges.
Each week, students work towards competing in the Riley Cup Challenge in July.
Throughout the program, they investigate challenges such as improving the robot’s
ability to follow lines consistently and developing systems to detect and rescue victims. At the conclusion of each session, students reflect on the challenges they encountered and the strategies they used to overcome them.

A huge congratulations to our cast made up of students from Years 7 to 10. What an amazing opportunity for our students. We look forward to participating again next year!

Industrial Technology Timber students are working in earnest on their Occasional Tables. Incorporating hand cut mortise and tenon joints, the small table is an ongoing project which will take the students two terms to complete. Starting with basic plans, the students will embellish them with design changes as they learn new skills along the way.
