The inventors exploring the way of technology by using a camera to photograph their friends and teachers in their outdoor environment

The Inventors are currently focusing on the letter Aa they are able to identify the letter lower and upper case. It is wonderful to see them further developing their fine motors skills and correct tripod grasp holding the pen to trace the letter.

Chinese New Year group time / Community

Last Friday one of our family members who celebrates Chinese New Year came to visit us and take a group time, the children took great interest in learning about Chinese culture, Tigna’s mum Yaohua spoke about why the Chinese New Year celebration is important to Chinese people, The 1st of Feb is the start of the Chinese calendar during this month ancestors are honoured and traditional ceremonies are held where people get together and welcome the new year with customs that shall bring good luck, fortune, wealth, prosperity and happiness. Each year a Chinese Zodiac animal is the symbol for the year and this year Symbol is Tiger. Yaohua also showed us some important cultural items such as good luck hangings, and envelops, she brought some lollies for the children as a symbol of good luck. At the end Yaohua taught us some songs about happy new year and good luck in Chinese that our children and educators tried to pronounce after her. Thanks, Yaohua and Tigna for sharing your culture with us. The children learnt the diversity and information about the culture of their peer.
