Our Year 10 and 11 Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh participants hiked approximately 45km over an incredible four-day adventure. Walking from Avalon to Palm Beach before tackling the trails of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, and finishing up at the Palm Beach Lighthouse.

Fueled by laughter, friendship and plenty of snacks, they carried their own supplies and pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones. There was time for beach swims, campfire laughs, tired feet and plenty of moments to remember. A challenging adventure filled with achievement, self-sufficiency, friendship and memories that will last long after the final step. The teamwork, cooperation, patience and enthusiasm shown by all participants was outstanding!

On Wednesday, Year 9 and 10 Photography & Digital Media students visited Cockatoo Island as part of their exploration of the Artist’s Journey. The UNESCO World Heritage site, with its dramatic architecture, layered history, and sweeping harbour views, provided rich inspiration for students. Throughout the day, they engaged in taking photographs and sketching places that captured their imagination and sparked new ideas for artmaking.

This experience encouraged students to reflect on how artists respond to place and environment, transforming observations into creative concepts. The excursion also deepened their understanding of the relationship between artist, artwork, world, and audience, laying a strong foundation for their ongoing Visual Arts practice.

With internal assessment now finalised, our Year 12 students have reached an important point in the HSC journey: it’s time to stop looking backwards and start moving forward — together.

In the final days of Year 12, legal studies students spent time transitioning into a cooperation model, recognising that everyone has something to contribute to the success of the group. That meant being brave: handing their essays to peers to be marked, opening themselves up to honest feedback, and trusting each other to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

Conor (Year 10) recently won gold in the 15 Boys Long Jump and Triple Jump at the NSWCCC Athletics Carnival, breaking the triple jump record in the process. Well done Conor!

Our Intermediate and Senior Boys Tennis teams have been crowned Sydney Champions after a dominant display. Special mention must go to the Intermediate Boys who did not lose a match throughout the whole term!

A huge congratulations to Year 10 student Tyler who has been selected for the Australia U16 National Team to attend the Chinese Football Association (CFA) U16 Invitational 2026 . The camp is scheduled from September to October 2026 in Shenyang, China, where Australia will face Vietnam, Kyrgyz Republic, and hosts China PR.

Marist Spirit Day was a day of fun, connection and community spirit for our St Mary’s Campus. K-6 students teamed up within Colour Houses with peers from different grades and participated in a variety of fun games and activities, culminating in the highly anticipated Colour House relays.

It was a lovely day of connection, community and Champagnat spirit.

This is a historic and deeply significant moment for Marist Catholic College North Shore. Our first fully co‑educational graduating cohort represents a new chapter in the life of the College; one shaped by courage, dignity and a shared commitment to learning. Their graduation signals not only a structural milestone, but a cultural one, firmly grounded in the Marist values that have guided our community for nearly 140 years.
