The final of the Bear Pit Public Speaking Competition was held at St Mary’s Campus. The standard was extremely high and the judges had to choose one winner from each stage.
From Stage 2, Zayne gave a humorous speech on the topic, ‘My Favourite Family Tradition’. Zayne spoke with confidence and had the audience laughing about why the Indian Festival of Lights, known as Diwali, is so much fun!
The winner of Stage 3, Gemma, chose the topic, ‘One thing I wish everyone in the world knew is...'. Gemma focused on the importance of the simple breath and informed the audience eloquently why it is essential to stop and take a deep breath!
Both students will be wonderful ambassadors for MCCNS at Parliament House next week and we congratulate them both, as well as our other finalists.

Year 9 students ventured to Berry Island Reserve for a Reflection Day that was both enriching and unforgettable. Walking on Country and surrounded by the natural beauty of Sydney Harbour, students engaged in four immersive experiences to spark curiosity and deepen their understanding of Indigenous life.
The Reflection Day was not only educational but also a chance for students to connect with nature, strengthen friendships, and take time to reflect on their own learning journey. We are proud of the curiosity and respect they displayed throughout the experience.
At MCCNS, we learn; together.

We would like to extend our warm congratulations and thanks to our students for their wonderful involvement in the recent North Sydney Council Citizenship Ceremony.
The College has been a proud part of the North Sydney community since 1888, and we were honored to receive an invitation from the Mayor for this occasion. Our students did us proud as they welcomed new citizens with heartfelt speeches and a memorable performance of the National Anthem. At Marist, we learn, celebrate and welcome; together.
