We are celebrating Chinese New Year at After School Care Leisure 🐉

The kids had so much fun crafting their own dragon and it looks amazing!!! ✨

Chinese New Year marks the start of the lunar new year and is a time for family, luck, and new beginnings 🌟 The kids explored the stories behind the celebrations, learned about zodiac signs, and discovered that this year is the Year of the Fire Horse 🔥

This week at After School Care, we’re exploring kindness and inclusion! 🌈

Hendrik shared a German folktale about three butterfly friends who stick together when it rains. Each flower would only help butterflies of the same colour, but they choose kindness and refuse to be separated💛

A gum tree eventually welcomes them all, showing the importance of being kind, inclusive and making space for everyone 🙌

At After School Care, every child is welcome, included and valued every day! 🦋✨

We welcomed Aunty Jean today, an Indigenous Elder from North Sydney Cammeraygal Country, who will be working with the children this coming weeks to create a unique storybook for each child ✨

The stories will be inspired by a Dreamtime narrative featuring whales 🐋 and will be brought to life through engaging and creative craft activities 🎨🖍️

Each story will be personalised for every child, with a whale entering the harbour as a shared theme that connects all the individual stories within the Leisure Kid program 🌊💙

Let me tell you, we have been having so much fun this week taking our Christmas cards to the post so they can be delivered to their lucky recipients! 🎄✉️

The kids had a great time making the cards, decorating them, adding special touches to their Christmas lists and, on top of that, getting them delivered! ✨

We just love Christmas at After School Care Leisure and always make sure the kids have an amazing time with us! ❤️🎅🎁

We are definitely getting ready for Christmas! 🎄✨

Today, we set up a full Christmas craft station where kids made their Christmas cards ✉️🎅 One station helped them create a nice little envelope and the other offered personalised support with extra craft and decorations if they wanted it 🌟

Once their Christmas cards are ready, the kids will take them to the post office so they can be delivered to the North Pole! 📮🎁

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and we are absolutely LOVING seeing the kids get into the festive spirit! 🎄
